About a week ago, I made a walk, and was visiting the Eastern flank of the cinder cone of mount Restinga. Mycamera and I visited a nice view-spot just next to the old and now touristic foot-path from El Pinar to la Restinga.Enjoying the walk through this impressing estratovolcanic area, just before reaching the fishermen-settlement of LaRestinga, the way through reaching the coast, took a surprising change passing the blockade near the water-distribution-center.The Hierro-Governments, inhabitants, locals and foreigners, some of them residents on this island for a lot of years, are trying to translate a personal resilience-behavior in taking advantage of the local volcanic situation.Every existing group on this Island has it
s own explanation, how to exploit the “volcanic siesta” we live in,
trying toturn it into an Atlantic Wellness-spot for visitors and population. On the left white-red plastic ribbon fragment of the Magma-biking event a few months ago.
During the last months, promotion initiatives based on economical interest were taken by the Governments of ElHierro , by inviting directors and tourists companies to visit the Island. All Canarian Consuls representing world-wide Governments had a change to realize the invitation made by the ElHierro- Governments, to taste some of the local highlights.Non-profit groups and individuals raised their voice to conserve the island in a respectful way, for their own andvisitors delight.Other Cultural soiled individuals and groups worked out their reflections about a Hierro
vision which is able totransmit a world-wide version of the beauty and respect for this unique Oceanic Island.El Hierro, during its history, pushed by its isolated geographic situation, counts with a very closed community.Still existing modern-aged transport, permits and permitted the arrival of long and short-staying guests.
Part of these World-citizen store certain cultural-developed know-how , ideas about how wellness-requirementshave to be and other strange things in their luggage, and bring them to the Island. But mostly it seems to be a verylong-time-process to over-cross the Hierro-established time-borderline.During the volcanic crisis situation, naked difference between positive constructive and foreign non-attacking ideasfor the Hierro-community and established culture and wellness knocked on the office-doors of the Island-Governments, remembering that a constructive interchange maintains alive and in growing process an establishedcultural heritage. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------For that reason I was very glad to hear from the Council of El Pinar, Jesús Pérez Quintero, that, supposing animpossible increase of people which the council can offer a job, a cleaning-project will be organized to bring thePinar-council area back to its natural state.
