Description

Yoga Vasishtha Maharamayana is a remarkable, large classical Indian text of philosophy, illustrated by stories and similes. The only complete English translation is by V. L. Mitra (1891).

It is currently being prepared for publication in the public domain at the Project Gutenberg/Distributed Proofreaders (www.pgdp.net).

This file contains the first two volumes (of 4). The text has gone through two proof-reading rounds (P2), and (for vol. 1 and 2,1) three rounds (P3).

The introductory chapters etc. have been added in this version. Some hyperlinks have been inserted, to facilitate navigation.

The rest of the volumes (3 and 4) have been uploaded separately.

There is a group named "Yoga Vasishtha, Mitra translation" from where all updated files can be viewed and downloaded.
