The newly crowned number one DJ in the world lets loose his second longplayer on the number one
label in the world (Resident Advisor 2011). We all watched his steady rise to the top carefully as he
had a great journey to reach success. We can say that this outcome was a bit expected if you listen
carefully his productions and remember the words of his fellow artists about him.
Tracks From The Crypt.
Jamie recently said that this album is a collection of unreleased tracks, or secret weapons as he likes
to call them, from the last 5 years plus some new tunes that he already uses to bomb the dance floor.
Whats my opinion on that? Well, Id really love to agree with him, but I dont.
The crypt shouldve stayed closed and secret. And of course this is my opinion and you shouldnt
keep yourselves from buying and listening to this album. My opinion is based on a principal I have
and its about not listening to albums that are all about 3 songs and a huge piece of garnish. Unfinished tracks, bad sampled ones, abstract melodies and pads and this is what they all call experimental and exceptional.
In Jones forthcoming album the whole fuss is about three tracks that will definitely bomb many
dance floors around the world, during summer. Somewhere is a club tune with catchy vocals, bopping shakers and a pretty dark and groovy, at the same time, bassline. You should all listen to Tonight in Tokyo which is collaboration with Luca C. As I often do, many times successfully, I like to
use my fortune-telling ears during a song. This time Im sure that the track is going to be a huge
success. This is the style that Jones crypt should be about, an amazing bassline, that brings forward
all of the track elements, including a dreamy melody and some exceptional pads. Finally Paradise
is a tune that will surely capture your attention. Its not what I call a club anthem but it is a complete
production with a really good melody and a wonderful bassline.

PS. I am a really kind person but this time I have to do it. I want each and every one of you that will
read this review to listen to Stems Of Liberty and send me your thoughts here: od.panierakis@

He began djing at the age of 15. His breakthrough came in 1993 when he got a gig at the Renaissance
Club in Mansfield after fellow DJ Sasha heard his demo. He is known for promoting the progressive house
sound that became popular in Europe and North America in the late 1990s and early 2000s, releasing
several popular mix compilations on labels like Renaissance and Global Underground. The last few years
he is djing with his good friend Carl Cox in Space Ibiza for the Revolution series and he will participate
again this summer. A book wouldnt be enough to tell you his story.

What makes a gig successful?

Its a 2 way street. You need a good DJ, who knows how to connect
with the crowd by playing the right balance of music that entertains and educates at the same time, and you need a crowd that
want to party and will go with what the DJ plays. When both these
things happen you have a great party. With the commercial sound
being very popular at the moment that crowd only seem to want
to hear tracks they know and are not looking for any surprises in
the set which I think is a shame.
Have you ever had a gig in which there were less than a hundred
in the crowd? How did you feel?
I played a party for 30 people once. It was a competition to have
me DJ in your house. The guys parents would not let him have
the party at their house so we ended up booking a hotel room for
and buy loads of booze for him to make the party go well. It was
really good fun.
Which is the highlight of your musical journey?
I love that connection I have with the crowd when I know they totally trust what I am doing and this allows me to take them on that
journey. There is no better feeling as a DJ.
Do you remember your 13hour set in Cavo Paradiso back
in 2001? Was it the crowd, the gig space or the music that
fascinated you that much?
Of course I do! It was a special gig not only for me but for everyone
that was there. As I explained above the crowd there wanted to
party, I wanted to play and nobody wanted to leave. Even though
it was such a long set it just seemed to fly by and thats when you
know it`s a special gig.
Whats your opinion on the extreme expansion that the EDM
has the last years? Is it normal for a subculture to be mainstream and kind of popish?
Well I don`t play popish or mainstream music so it does not really
effect me. The people are out and having fun at those parties, the
scene is big enough to have loads of different genres, I am happy
playing the music I love rather than playing music I don`t like.
I believe that youve heard about the Greek situation right now
Send to our readers a survival recipe. How do you get back on
your feet after an extremely difficult situation?
Greece is a fantastic place and it`s a shame that it has found
itself in this situation which is very hard for a lot of people. You
have a beautiful country and tourism must be a major focus to get
more people coming for holidays over the next few years to boost
your economy and get it back on it`s feet.
Finally we want to share with us your top5 tracks of all time

In this issue of UrbanStyleMag we are having the artist Paris Liamis. He was born in Offenbach, Germany in 1985 but he hasnt forgot his Greek origins. I talked with him about his
dreams, how he came in contact about electronic music and his future plans for his label
Sonido Rec.

22 URBANSTYLEMAG

music,echoe
Hi Pari,
Can you remember the first time you got in touch with
electronic music?
I first came in touch with electronic music in the age of 18.
I remember that a friend, back then, talked me into going
to a party that was taking place at Offenbach - the name of
the club was Robert Johnson. From the first moment at that
club, the music and the people took my breath away. I have
always been open to other genres of music too, but this was
something new and different. It immediately got my attention. I started producing music in 2008 with poor equipment
and with the purpose to make my own music.
What does Sonido mean? When did the label start, which
was your dream back then?
Sonido Rec.In spanish, sonido means sound. Thats where
the labels name comes from. Timo started the label in the
October of 2008. In the November of the same year, we met
and in 2010 I became label head. My dream was to make
releases and present to the people music that is a bit different from the usual. But trying, at the same time, to project
the same message and interest, just like the first time when
I listened to this kind of music.
How did you feel when you first played in Cocoon club
lounge? Which was the craziest moment that you remember from there?
Playing at Cocoon, one of the biggest clubs in the world, was
not only a great honor and joy but also, an experience. My
first solo live premiere was at the Cocoon club lounge during
the after hour party that occurred right after the end of the
Merkwurdiges verhalten. Then, we started a number of label
nights at Cocoon club lounge with the name Bar Sonido.

Hmm The craziest moment that comes to mind is that the

main floor of Cocoon was empty while the lounge, where we
were playing music, was full of people.
Tell us about your future plans.
I have already started making my first, personal album. Probably it will be finished by 2013. Additionally, Im working on
an audiovisual project that is due to be presented soon.
Lastly, many releases in Sonido, digital and vinyl from new
artists.

24 URBANSTYLEMAG

How did you enjoy the process now you look back on the album?
I learned a lot about harmonics and I tried to create new sounds while using two or three
synths with the same melody together. Also it is great to work with Chriss because normally I
produce everything and there I could lay back and relax during hes playing some melodies.
Was there a plan from the start for the album or was it more trial and error?
First I have to say that I never thought I could do an album but at the beginning of 2011 I
felt it was the right time to try it! After 3 or 4 months I almost canceled the album but then
I had a studio session with Chriss Vogt. From this point onwards I changed my work flow
and the music style to be a bit more open minded for his sounds and we found fast a good
way to work together.
I was thinking about doing an album for a long time but it was too big for me. Im happy I
did it because it was a great experience and I learnt a lot along the way! So it wasnt a trial
and it wasnt an error, it was an art of development for me.
I did so many tracks and remixes in the last three years that I wanted to find me again, so
it was in a sense a journey of self discovery.
Would you do anything differently?
No! The album is perfect like it is. Sure I could do new tracks for it but as always doing new
stuff that you like more because you listened the other tracks too often will always be an
issue. But the album is perfect for me so all is cool :)
Have you thought about the next one yet?
Sure and we are already thinking about the new concept. But we will do some e.p.s first
before we start again working together on a new album. But it will definitely be a collaboration with Chriss again.
How have reactions on the dancefloor been?
Great! I played all the tracks off the album at different parties around the world and all
have worked great so far and had good reactions too!
Will there be any remixes at all or?
Yes. Artists like Ray Okpara, Mathias Schaffhuser, Mihalis Safras, Yousef, Florian Kaltstrom & Miguel Bastida, Benno Blome, Monkey Safari and more will do remixes of the
album tracks.
What else you got coming up?
Im working on some remixes for YosTek feat. Leroy In a bad way on Yousefs Circus
label and this will be a great vocal track. Also another remix for Mathias Schaffhuser on
his label Ware will come in May, that is a cover version of Luomo Tessio.
I also signed an EP to Mihalis Safras label Material for September and Im working on an EP
for Be As One the label of Gel Abril and Shlomi Aber.
Should people expect this sort of sound from one of your DJ sets?
At my DJ sets I play different styles to create some ups and downs so Im playing also this
sound in my sets yes.
What are your plans for the rest of 2012?
Working on some new e.p.s, doing less remixes, making more bbqs and trying to have
more time for my family!

The history of Time Warp

Once a year all the ways lead to
Mannheim

I am convinced that only several of you remember the first edition of Time Warp. Some of us
probably dont know the first date of this massive festival in Europe. But for the question who
played there loads of you throw up your hands or say Sven Vth. It seems very easy to answer but
is it true that the big headliner has been with the Time Warps family from the beginning? For many
years Time Warp has been the most important techno stop in Europe, has gathered more fans
every year, has taken places in several locations in Europe. But it has finally settled in Mannheim
about 1 hour away from Frankfurt.
Time Warp is a kind of techno culture that attracts everyone with their outstanding atmosphere,
huge Line Up, fantastic people and thumping great electronic sounds. Every year the hunger for
techno sounds draws flocks of techno tourists have followed the signs of Time Warp. If you joined
there once, you will want to attend every year.

I have observed from the past Time Warp has had the big influence on all
the people. Some of them werent addicted to electronic music but after
grabbed positive vibes became real techno fans. What is more in my opinion
the festival is responsible for creating awareness of electronic music for all
of who attend!

Time Warp is definitely the event that manages to attract techno tourists.
Every year we experience a high standard of music. Time Warp has a long
history of electronic music in Germany. It may be a surprise for those having
there the first experience of the festival but not for the faithful who have
been coming to Mannheim for many years, they have always been aware of
the power of that incredible music.

Well It all began in 1994. The magic date 26th of November kicked
off one of the massive festival in Europe. The first edition took place in
prestigious Walzmhle in Ludwigshafen. The event wasnt so gigantic for
nowadays standards but there was a crowd of 3000 eager fans. The set of
Speedy J and the back 2 back sets of John Acquaviva and Heiko MSO were
stuck in the minds of viewers and left the crowd entrance.

After the positive feedback the Time Warp appeared next year. In 1995 the
location was changed and moved to familiar Maimarthalle in Mannheim.
The 20th of May was the time where the father of Cocoon Records and Cocoon Club in Frankfurt joined for the first time the big family of this festival.
Of course I mean about Sven Vth who faithfully stays behind the scene till
this days. The high quality programme got more than 10.000 techno tourist to participated in the second edition! Besides of Time Warps headliner,
such big names as Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Josh Wink, Kid
Paul, LFO, Cosmic Baby appeared on the stage.
Because of the increasing popularity of Time Warp, the organizer - Cosmopop on the 2nd of December made at the same year another event that featured played Sven Vth, Richie Hawtin, Darren Emmerson, John Acquaviva,
Kevin Saunderson, DJ Hell, Ian Pooley.

Lets get back to the early 90s. It boggles my mind that this festival was born
18 years ago especially when I was only 10 years old child and collecting
cassettes of Michael Jackson. I have never thought that a few years later
I would join the electronic music lovers and become a Time Warp fan! How
did the journey of techno sounds start?

In 1996 Time Warp abandoned her home town and headed to Berlin to
Arena where it was the magical live by Orbital. The rest of the line up that
evening was also tempting, music by Der Dritte Raum, Gregory Fleckner
Quintet, Tod Terry, Marcos Lopez, Mitja Prinz moved the crowd.
1997 was plentiful of Time Warps events. There were three editions and
each of them were situated in different location. The first of them took place
in Bremem with Sven Vth, DJ Hell, Oliver Huntemann, and Speedy J who
took care of the high level of music. A half a year later the audience went
mad in Mannheim following to techno sounds among other things such as
Sven Vth, Carl Cox, Westbam, Darren Emerson, Josh Wink, Richie Hawtin,
Christian Vogel and Alter Ego. For those who missed these events could
catch the great vibes in Speyer.
On 30th May 1998 again Time Warp visited Mannheim and Bremem. But
in her hometown the location scouts discovered the perfect place to fit the
idea of the venue. The huge industry area was shared for 7 smaller areas,
a chill out room and an outdoor area. The positive news about the festival spread the word so a mass of techno fans came from all over Europe.
The peak of the evening in Bremem 3 months later was the set played by
Thomas Schumacher.

The 10th edition of Time Warp was celebrated in Werkhof Mannheim and
because of the great memories from the year before where the party people
were rocking the place till very late in the morning in that year organizer resolved on coming back to Bremem. However it was the last time when Time
Warp was built up in that place.
Time Warp was travelling around Germany looking for the nice locations but
her heart belongs to Maimarkthalle which has been a real hot spot till nowadays. Since 2000 Maimarkthalle more and more fans have seated from all
over the world. The most incredible live act was presented by Laurent Garnier who gripped the crowd (sounds like the best memories every year when
the French father of techno appears behind the desks). Except permanent
artists performanced on the Time Warp to Line Up joined Paul van Dyk, Dj
Hell, Thomas Heckmann, Chris Liebing, Rolando, Kevin Saunderson, Tom
Novy, Taucher, Talla 2xlc.
In 2001 until four events were signatured by Time Warp in one year . That
year the Line Up temped even the most choosy funs of techno sounds. It
was no a small wonder because organizers have assured a high standard
of music like every year. Who introduced to Time Warps word in 2001?
Some of those artists still have warmed the crowd up till nowadays like Ellen
Alien, Monika Kruse, Ricardo Villalobos or Adam Beyer. Techno beat was
dominated the most by Technasia live, Cristian Vogel live, DJ Rush, Marco
Remus, Toni Rios, Mauro Picotto, DJ T, Tobi Neumann, Christian Smith and
many more. That year Time Warp led their fans to impressive location in
Werdau, Hannover and Parade.
During next two years Time Warp was on the up and up and highly influenced on the audience awareness level that everybody knew the way to
Mannheim. The 10th anniversary felt on 2004. 14.000 techno fans flocked
to the festival and the Line Up was so massive that there were creating an
up-roar on the dance floor!
2005 was for Time Warp a breakthrough. Cosmopop introduced a new concept under the name Colours of Rhythm. They joined forces with TDK.
What is more the first time the festival was organized abroad with a big
success. The first city which measured up to everyones expectations was
Prague. the next year opted Wien.

A new innovation was introduced in 2007 when the city of Mannheim was
celebrated its 400th . Time Warp was the official part of the ceremony. Time
Warp broaden their musical horizons significantly and the way of festival
culture. It was a big surprised because Time Warp was a seven day festival, called the International festival for Jetztmusic and media arts. For an
entire week, music and experimental media arts, exhibitions, concerts and
workshops about music were centered around Mannheim. Who from the
new names graced with their presence that night? Anthony Rother, James
Holden, Turntablerocker, Loco Dice, Karotte, Magda, me, Extrawelt, Martin
Buttrich, Guy Gerber, Chris Tietjen, Felix Krcher, Nick Curly, Federico Molinari, Ray Okpara, DJ Manon, Nekes, Johnny D.

In 2008 apart from the Mannheim Time Warp started their trip tour around
Europe to the clubs. They picked three clubs in Italy, Holland and Switzerland and made a smash party with headliners like Loco Dice and Marco
Carola. Furthermore Holland became a double lucky devil because Time
Warp found there the next home base. Hearthrob, Joris Voorn, Johnny D
played incredible live act. Holland has stayed as city partner for German
edition of Time Warp till nowadays.

And finally Time Warp reached the 15th anniversary in 2009. Also for 5 days
we were witnesses of all events dedicated to the best music sounds. Exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions, meetings with people from the booking agency and finally parties. Mannheim resolved into electronic music city
in Germany. Time Warp has grown into obligatory techno stop in Europe
which gathered loads of people from abroad. Cosmopop shared their experience, lifestyle, electronic music spirit and the great vibes with everyone who
turns up at the venue. Time Warp hit a peak of the high quality festival which
all world know about.

18th anniversary as a coming of age for most of us and there are no doubts
that Time Warp reach the highest level of music, culture, sound. For the first
time this year the sounds of music reverberates from 6 floors! I cant even
describe by using words how emotive reigned at all spaces! Maetrik created
an extraordinary atmosphere and on the dancefloor which seemed as a real
madness! Ben Klocks techno beats pervade all the fans! What a vibe and
madness overcame on the dancefloor! This year the crowd was possessed
by his music of Jamie Jones, Visionquest at the 6th floor. A huge figure of
techno stage Sven Vth as always make people ecstatic and over the moon!
The Extrawelt played exquisite live act! And still Laurent Garnier is a master
of all editions of the festival. The awesome energy by crowd was accumulated at Davide Squillace set. No words needed!
Time Warp the first time showed up in Italy last year with a high success and
who missed this festival in Mannheim has to be ready to become party animal in Italy and later in Holland again! And that is the history of Time Warp!
Some of you are the part of this history! And lots of us will be continue this
techno tradition for next years! Every year am overwhelmed by sight and the
experience with this festival, it is amazing!

One of the best graffiti artist in the style of photorealism is Mr.Dheo.He comes from Portugal

Mister Dheo.
Im from Gaia Porto Portugal and I started doing graffiti 12 years ago. I began alone so
I actually didnt had a tag when I did my first 3 or 4 pieces. After a while I felt I needed a
good name and started to write Dheo. It doesnt have a special meaning, at the time I just
wanted 4 letters I liked but specially a combination of letters which would be difficult to see
anywhere else. It was only 5 or 6 years after that my friends started to call me Mister and
I attached it to Dheo.

When I was 3 years old I started to copy the titles from every newspaper and magazine I had
at home. At that age I didnt know what I was writing obviously, but I was filling hundreds of
paper sheets with different types of fonts. My parents were surprised so they motivated me
by giving me blank notebooks for me to express myself. With the time I began creating my
own characters, scenarios, letters and everything that came from my imagination. So while
I was growing up my interest in drawing was very intense, although I never wanted to go
to art schools or to paint canvases. I didnt like oil, acrylic, or even pencils. I always did my
drawings with a black or blue pen, so I couldnt erase it. I guess I never saw myself doing Art
when I was older, so I just did it for fun without thinking seriously in learning or in becoming
a great artist. But when I saw graffiti for the first time, at the age of 15, it was love at the
first sight. Everything about it was differentthe colors, the size, the fact that it was done
on the streetsI felt that graffiti was my path. So I started doing some research and I took
hundreds of photos in my hometown, always looking for new pieces, tags, bombings, and
making my own sketches when I was at home. I was addicted to it, so I had to start. I picked
up some cans in a supermarket and did my first pieces alone. And never stoped until today.

Although Im not an old school guy, there were only a few pieces on the
streets of my city at that time. I guess Porto had around 15 active writers 12
years ago, so graffiti was somehow a mistery for a lot of people, including
my parents. They didnt took it too serious, so they gave me freedom to do it
but they always told me that if I put myself in trouble I would have to solve it
by myself. It took me only 4 or 5 months to get caught by the cops and to go
to court. I had to deal with that problem alone and Ive learned my lesson.
Of course I was still doing illegal graffiti after that, but I knew I had to suffer
with its consequences by myself, and so I did. I never broke my parents trust
because I never gave them problems with what I was doing.

made you pick up this style?

.
Ive always tried to be as most complete and versatile as posible. I love doing characters the same way I love to do styles, but I got to a point where
my work was getting boring. I didnt wanted to get stuck in the middle of my
evolution process, so I was looking for something more difficult to achieve,
and photorealism still is at least for me the most difficult thing to do
with spray cans, specially when you dont use cardboards or stencil caps
to do thin lines or details. When I do letters is pure pleasure, but when I do
photorealism is more than that, its a challenge. Everytime I do it I find it difficult and I guess if you do something that its easy you dont really enjoy it.

What is, in your opinion, the determining factor to a perfect graffti?

Greyscale vs Color. Which one you prefer the most?

.
.
Not easy to answer. It depends on the concept and on the mood as well.
It makes sense to use greyscale in certain pieces I do but usually I prefer
color, although I try not to use a lot of different colors on it. I try to mix similar tones to make the whole piece balanced.

Can you tell us your favorite artwork and the story behind it?

When I think about my favourite artwork I dont see only the aesthetic. Im
very autocritic for that! Usually I think about everything thats beyond the
final result, like the concept behind and the process of the painting. Looking
through this perspective I guess the project Last Ride was something that
I really enjoyed doing. The concept was strong, but I knew that my message
would be stronger if I made a video. I dont know much about filming and editing, but I took my camera and gave it a try. Doing everything alone was not
easy, but the impact of the video made all the work worth it. The feedback
was great and I am thankful that so many people shared it around the World.
Its an important message.

The passion you put into it. Personally I try to do my best in every piece although I know that it will never look perfect at my eyes and that perfection
is unreachable. There are good and bad days, but I think if you really do
everything you can for your next piece to be better than the last one youre
on the right path. Working hard and being conscious that tomorrow you can
be better than what you are today makes you a better person and a better
writer. If you stop you die..theres always someone doing amazing things out
there and youre quickly forgotten.

Has there been any life lesson from all your graffiti timeline?

Graffiti has a major role in my life and has been that way for years. Its unquestionable that it teached me a lot of stuff as a person, as a professional
and as a citizen as well. When you do illegal you are trespassing the law, so
you have to learn the best way to deal with the police and the court. When a
company wants your work you have to turn what you do into business, so you
have to find the best way to deal with sharks that are experienced in taking
advantage of others at any cost. When youre painting on the street you are
an easy target because youre in public and everything can happen to you,
so you have to be aware and prepared for all kinds of crazy stuff. The sentence Graffiti changed my life really makes sense for a real writer, because
it does make you grow and it does teach you lessons at many different levels.

My inspiration comes mainly from my routine, so it happens to wake up
today full of ideas and tomorrow without even one. The click can happen
when Im reading the newspaper or when Im chating with a friend, it really
depends. But the concepts of my paintings always come from what I feel
inside. Graffiti is my way to tell people what Im thinking, how I see things
around me, what I love or hate. What we are going through at the moment in
Portugal, for example, has been a great inspiration in the last months. Most
of my recent pieces are conceptually connected with the huge portuguese
crisis. If I cannot punch and kick any member of our government, at least Ill
say fuck you on my walls for everybody else to see. I use my artwork as a
way to have a voice on the society I live in. Its my weapon to fight.

Every place I go has a special meaning for me because I always live unique
experiences in each one of them. Its difficult to chose one, but I might point
Salvador da Bahia (which was my first trip to Brasil in 2008) as one of the
most memorable. When you travel to do graffiti you dont travel as a tourist,
which means youre not there to visit only the beautiful side of the places
you go to. You have the chance to meet the culture as it really is, and in Salvador I was far from the touristic side with all the beaches and cool hotels,
and dealed with the real side of the city and its people. If you travel to Brasil
as a tourist you dont go to the favela. I went and painted a piece there, and
thats a thing that only graffiti can give you.

I have never been in Greece but its one of the countries I would
really like to visit, due to its history and beauty. And now Portugal
and Greece are on Europes tail, so somehow I feel more identified
with greek people, because we are living the same problems and
struggling to have a better life. I guess the Greek and Portuguese
crisis might be my biggest inspiration if I did something over there,
although I would try to transmit my message in a positive way. Art, in
my point of view, might be one of the keys to give people the motivation they need to carry on and to believe in a better future. So I hope
Greek writers keep active and doing their thing, like I try to do here.

MAY 17th - JUNE 17th 2012
ATOPOS cvc / Salaminos 72, Athens, Greece
Exhibitions opening days and hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday:
12:00-20:00
ATOPOS Contemporary Visual Culture (ATOPOS CVC) presents its
new exhibition FULL OF LOVE, with artworks by Boris Hoppek and
is curated by Vassilis Zidianakis. FULL OF LOVE is part of ATOPOS
new theme of research on the human body and sexual practices
in the digital era.
FULL OF LOVE is based on Bimbo, a Character that expresses
human sexuality in a society where each and every individual has
its own unique and distinctive sexuality. This is an absolute sexually liberated world.
Autoerotism, Heterosexuality, Homosexuality, Sadomasochism,
Fetishism, Crossdressing, Asexuality, form part of accepted love
expressions in the FULL OF LOVE universe. Beyond all ethical labels, kinks or taboos there is a unique aphrodisiac blend for each
and everyone. FULL OF LOVE is a pleasure manifesto where only
one truth reigns; the pursuit of Love through a range of sexual
practices.
German graffiti and street artist Boris Hoppek has continuously
de-contextualised iconographic figures, taking them to a level of
abstraction that allows him to address explicit political themes,
such as immigration, racism, violence and sexual abuse. The variety of his work is unlimited; challenging every surface: taking his
strong characters not only onto walls, but also on any material
of everyday life. Hoppek draws quickly with a reduced line, using
basic colors, thus creating his own character universe while using
a very specific, often drastic visual language.
Hoppek has exhibited in galleries from Barcelona to Berlin. He
participated in the exhibition ARRRGH! Monsters in Fashion organized by ATOPOS CVC, spring 2011, (Benaki Museum, Athens),
while part of his work was featured in ATOPOS recent publication titled NOT A TOY. Fashioning Radical Characters (Pictoplasma
Publishing, 2011).
In conjunction to FULL OF LOVE, ATOPOS CVC and LUST DECADE,
a designers collective, are organising the theme contest Boris
Hoppek-Full of Love. Through the interactive platform www.lustdecade.com the public will have the opportunity to vote for its
two favorite Boris Hoppek drawings that will be printed in a limited edition T-shirts.
FULL OF LOVE is supported by the Hellenic Center for Disease
Control & Prevention (HCDCP). HCDCPs central axis is the transmission of knowledge, the international co-operations and the
sharing of information, supporting the protection of human life.
ATOPOS CVC is a non-profit Cultural Organization, founded in
2003 in Athens by Stamos Fafalios and Vassilis Zidianakis. Its
aim is to implement innovative projects of contemporary visual
culture, with particular emphasis on the human figure and costume.

UMF has finally arrived in Europe and UMF Poland has announced the preliminary lineup for this massive event on July 13th and 14th in Warsaw, Poland.
UMF Miami has become legendary among dance music fans for its gigantic
stage setups, the best DJs in the world united in one place and performing
on multiple stages from noon until midnight, special guest appearances Madonna even hopped on stage this year in Miami and top-of-the-line lighting
and audio effects. This year over 200,000 music lovers from just about every
EDM sub-genre made the pilgrimage to this epic music festival in Miami, and
UMF Poland has every intention of making the Warsaw experience every bit as
memorable with mind-bending music, surprise guests, great pre- and after club
parties, star-studded allure and two nonstop days of dancing!
UMF goes Warsaw: A host with premium credentials
Warsaw is a boomtown when it comes to all-night parties, glamour and excitement with a nocturnal nightclub scene that caters to just about every taste
at prices far cheaper than the likes of London and Moscow. The two-day UMF
Poland event will be located at the Hippodrome, an easily accessible racetrack
that offers twice the space than the Bayfront Park, where UMF Miami was held
in March of this year. A popular concert venue, the Hippodrome has also played
host to Polands biggest concerts. Mikael Karlsson of UMF Poland says that
picking Warsaw was a no-brainer: Warsaw is one of the most vibrant, cosmopolitan cities in the heart of Europe. From a value for your money perspective it
also wins hands down. Nearly all major airlines fly here at a very low price and
its easily accessible to European clubbers by train or car. I expect well be seeing some major UMF caravans on the European motorways this July. Thanks
to strategic partnerships organized by UMF Poland, festival-goers can opt for a
wide choice of lodgings, from budget hotels to international hotel brands offering up to a 60% discount to UMF visitors.
UMF Poland: Ready for launch
UMF Poland sees this festival as a launchpad for a yearly European event that
will ace the summer festival season. We are totally dedicated to delivering
the same level of excellence that our audience has come to expect from UMF
Miami. A massive lineup, surprise guests, an unbeatable party atmosphere and
spectacular stages and scenes, says Karlsson. Discounted early bird tickets
are already on sale at the UMF Poland website and given that all 165,000 UMF
Miami tickets sold out at record speed, clubbers are advised to secure their
tickets asap. The worlds premier electronic music festival is an amazing opportunity to experience the power and energy of dance musics finest DJs as
well as dancing alongside fellow clubbers from around the world. UMF Poland is
organized by the same company behind UMF Miami, rated the Best Music Event
the past 6 years by the jury at the International Dance Music Awards.
