2Synopsis:Atabout4:03p.m.onFriday,02-12-2012,uniformeddeputiesweredispatchedtothePBCCreditUnion,3469SummitBoulevard.A911callwasreceivedatthePBSOcommunicationscenterfromamalecallerwhoreportedhewasobservingamanarmedwitharifleintheparkinglot.Severaldeputiesadvisedthedispatchertheywereresponding.Meanwhile,the911operatorkepttheoriginalcalleronthelinetoprovideupdates.Thecallerwasaskedtodescribethearmedperson.Thecallersaidthemanhadbrownhairandwas19or20yearsofage.The911operatoraskedthecallerforhisname.Hetoldher:
"ChrisThompson."
Afewsecondslaterthecallersaidthemanwasfiringtherifle.SergeantWilliamGalewastheuniformedsupervisorinvolvedinthiscase.Asthesergeantrespondedhedirectedtheoperatortoaskthecallerifhewascertainthesuspecthadanactualfirearm,asopposedtoapelletrifleorpaintballgun.Theoperatoraskedthecallerthequestionandheassuredherthesuspecthadarealrifle.Thecallercontinuedtocalmlyanswerwhateverquestionswereasked.Hesaidheheardthearmedmansayhewantedtokillsomeone.SergeantGaleadviseddispatchhearrivedatthesceneat4:07:26p.m.(sevenminutesandtwenty-sixsecondspastfouro'clock).Thesergeantadvisedofshotsfiredeightsecondslater.Thesergeantradioedthathiscarhadbeenstruckbygunfirebuthewasokay.DeputiesBoothandStokeswerearrivingatthattime.Anadditionalupdateofshotsfiredisheardat4:08:16.At4:10:34adeputyisheardontheradioadvisingmultipleshotshadbeenfiredandEMSwasneeded.At4:11:17DeputyStokesadvisesdispatchthesubjectisdownandasksforEMS.Thesuspecthadmultiplegunshotwoundsandwaspronounceddeadatthescene.Hisloadedrifleandmultiplespent/firedcasingsfromtheriflewererecoveredatthescene.ItwasconfirmedthatSergeantGale'smarkedpatrolcarwasstruckbyseveralroundsofgunfirefromthesuspect'srifle.Itwasalsoconfirmedthatthe911caller,themanwhostayedonthephonewiththe911operatortoprovideupdatesasthedeputiesresponded,wasChrisThompson.Nodeputieswereinjured.
