of the Israelites. All of these were practiced literally but also were rich in symbolism. Inapplying the Law and the setting up of the sacrifices, offerings and even the tabernacle. Allthese things were full of meaning. In fact Moses was warned to follow the pattern in all thesethings so that the pattern of God and its meanings would be preserved. All of these havegreat meaning for us in the new covenant.
Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses wasadmonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thoumake all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.6 But now hath heobtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant,which was established upon better promises.Hebrews 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:9 Which was a figure for thetime then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make himthat did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10 Which stood only in meatsand drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually makethe comers thereunto perfect.Ephesians 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote aforein few words,4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

We do not try to fullfill it ourselves. We walk in faith inthe fact that Christ has fulfilled it on our behalf. The letter of the Law was for physical peopleunder it. We walk by the Spirit of the law as those spiritually alive through faith.
2 Corinthians 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of theletter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held;that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, inthe spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.Colossians 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands,in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:12 Buried with himin baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, whohath raised him from the dead.13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of
