This month we are readyfor a fun-filled picnic thememonth. Celebrating our Pre-KGrads, Dads and a Parent Nightout!
Pre-K Graduation:
 June 15th @11:15am. It will start off in thePre-K Room followed by anoutdoor ceremony with a lunch-eon.
Parents Night Out
: Mark yourcalendar on June 22nd @5:30pm-9:30pm. We will beshowing The Yogi Bear movie .This event is for ages 21/2-10years old. It is open to every-one. Members of the preschool& church $25.00 per child,$20.00 per sibling. Non-members $30.00 per child,$25.00 per sibling. Dinner,Snack, activities and a movie areprovided throughout the even-ing. Bring a pillow, blanket and pajamas in a labeled bag to useat the end of the night for themovie. Sign-ups: We have 40spots and all children must besigned up in advance. You mustpay at the time of signing up.Checks payable to Foothill Pre-school.
Sun Safety Tips:
In summer orany season, protecting yourchildren and infants from thesuns harmful rays is a must.Apply sunscreen 30 minutes be-fore heading outside. Choosesunscreen with SPF 15 or high-er. Dont forget the ears, hands,feet, eyes, lips, and back of neck,. Reapply every 2 to 3hours or after sweating orswimming. Cover up: wearprotective clothing, hats and sunglasses. These all are im-portant ways of warding off UVdamage. Dark clothing worksthe best. Keep a watch on med-ications. Some increase skinssensitivity to the sun. Pleaseremember to bring in labeled sunscreen.
Immunizations:
Please bringin current shot records for yourchilds folder.
Water Days:
Will be held in June, July and August. Pleaseprovide the following labeled items: water shoes, sunscreen,towel, swimsuit, water diaperand a hat!
Shoe Policy:
Please keep slipon sandals, jelly shoes and flipflops at home. Buckle or Velcrosandals are okay with a good tread.
Vacation Schedules:
If yourfamily will have a schedulechange or a vacation planned this summer please let Mrs. Ellaknow in advance.
New Staff:
We welcome PaigeWolf. She is attending CuestaCollege and will finished in2013 with a degree in FamilyStudies with a specialization inChild Development. She enjoyshiking, basketball, hanging outwith family & friends, most of all developing her relationshipwith God and others.

This month, we are pleased to welcome our new friend Madison to the Infant Center. Weare also saying good bye to Mieko as shemakes her way over to the Toddler room.Good Luck Mieko! We will miss you! For themonth of June, we will be celebrating Dadsand starting water play outside as well. Wewill be learning about the different aspects of nature by learning about space, stars, moon,and the sky.Our sign for the month will be Dad. To dothis, take your hand and tap your thumb onthe forehead with fingers spread.Haden-will start visiting the Toddler room inJune. He is continuing to make progress inall areas as he prepares for his transition inJuly.McKenzie-will begin sleeping on a cot at naptime and sitting at the table at meal times.She will be visiting the Toddler room in Juneas well.Erik- has found his voice, smiling at all of hisfriends and enjoying all activities in the InfantCenter.Owen-is continuing to progress in his devel-opment in different areas at the Infant Center with ease.Corbin-is enjoying play time with his friends.He likes to sit up in the bumbo or high chair and take in the entire environment aroundhim. He smiles at all his teachers and friendswhile he plays with the toys in the front room.Eme- is enjoying floor time in Infant Center with her new friends. She is gradually gettingacclimated to her friends, teachers, and rou-tines in the Infant Center.Kynzie-is now smiling at her teachers andfriends at the Infant Center. Let the summer begin. The Toddler class is excited that the warm weath-er is here. We love being outside andall the summer activities it brings.June is all about our favorite pasttime, picnics and food. We begin withhaving a picnic on Friday the 8th withour Toddler friends and our new com-ers to the class. There will be ahandout on what to bring for our pic-nic. During the week, we will talkabout all the different kinds of placeswe can have a picnic from the beachto the park. Plus we will talk about allthe yummy food we can have at apicnic.To follow up on our foodtheme, we have divided the monthinto talking about fruit and vegetables.We are going to have fruit tasting onTuesday the 12th to see what kind of fruits our friends enjoy. We will besorting fruit into different colors andshapes. We will read What am I for circle time to introduce more colorsand shapes. On Thursday the 14th,please bring a piece of your child'sfavorite fruit to share during circletime. As we move from fruit to vegeta-bles, we are going to continue withlearning our colors by sorting withvegetables. We will be doing a lot of vegetables prints such as bell pep-pers, potatoes, and celery. For circletime, we are going to read GrowingVegetable Soup, which will encour-age us to make our own for an after-noon snack one day that week.The Toddler class wants togive a big huge welcome to all of our new friends coming into our class. Weare excited to see that you are hereand can't wait to play. Since theweather is getting hotter that means alot of water play in our sensory tablefor us. So please make sure to haveextra shirts in your child's cubby. Thisway if they get too wet we canchange them. Let us know if youhave any vacations coming up. Alsoplease remember your snack days. If you miss it please bring a make upsnack. We do have a fridge and afreezer. Thank you.
Beginner Room: Miss Anitra
Wow, I cant believe it is summertimealready. We have a lot planned for thismonth, so lets get started. We start off the month with going on a picnic. We willget to have our own picnic in DramaticPlay. We will have a picnic basket, picnicfood and a picnic table cloth to pretendlike we are going on a picnic. We willmake picnic ants, picnic baskets, andBBQ chicken for art. We might even doBBQ sauce finger-painting. A greatsnack idea for this week is chicken nug-gets or hot dogs with BBQ sauce. OnJune 6th, we will have a Picnic. We willeat at the picnic tables. Please have your child bring a paper sack lunch (no heatups). Our next week we will be celebrat-ing our great dads and their special day.We will make a special art for our dad-dys. Then our last two weeks of June wewill talk about fruits and vegetables. Inour Dramatic Play, we will have aFarmers Market. We will get to shop for our favorite fruits and vegetables. For artwe will be doing orange and applestamping, corn-on-the-cob painting,make handprint carrots, purple grapescented grapes and much more. In our science table we will wash our fruits andvegetables. Thank you to Makaios momfor the transportation stickers and lettingus borrow the duffle bags for our Air-plane in Dramatic Play. We had fun pre-tending to go on our own flight. If theweather agrees with us this month(meaning being warm enough), we willstart having water days. I will send a notehome when we plan a water day.
