Global Warming is the world’s biggest problem which arises mainly due to
nature’s degradation and of increasing globalization and industrilization. The root
cause of global warming is due to excessive production of CH4, CO2, SO2, NO2
gases in the atmosphere. If not controlled, it will end the future. Biotechnology
can be used to minimize these gases by the production of Biodiesel, Biofuels etc.
Biodiesel can be produced biotechnologically by algal culture (algal oil
production). Micro-algae have much faster growth rates and the per unit area yield
of oil from algae is estimated to be from between 5,000 to 20,000 Gallons per acre,
per year; this is 7 to 31 times greater than the next best crop, palm oil.
