Niftylift Bags Technology Accolade for HeightRider 17

Award is second in two years the access manufacture.

Niftylift HeightRider 17 Hybrid 4x4 has been awarded the best new product of the year in the recent annual convention of the Hire & Rental Industry Association (HRIA) of Australia. Niftylfits Heightrider Hybrid stood out from among other various equipment and tools recently introduced in the rental industry. To have received this prestigious award, especially in the face of such rich and varied competition is a great achievement of which Niftylift is very proud, expressed John King of Niftylift Australia upon receiving the award. The event, held in Queensland, marked the second time in three years that the company received this award from the HRIA. In 2010, Niftylift took home the award for its SiOPS and ToughCage technology. Niftylift designed HR 17 has a working heights of 17 metres. The company has packed the HR 17 Hybrid with its top technologies, including the SiOPS safety system, an intelligent system that helps prevent involuntary operation of controls, preventing operator entrapment between the controls and an overhead obstruction. The HR 17 Hybrid also includes the company's ToughCage, which boasts a nearly indestructible composite base that allows it to absorb a huge amount of impact without causing damage to the work platform. The hybrid powered boom lift has a 4x4 wheel drive system aside from the feature packed parts, yet it remains light, weighing a mere 4.75 tonnes. Central to the hybrid technology award is HR 17 4x4's hybrid power system, which boasts impressive power efficiency and environmental friendliness. The company is not new to the realm of low emission systems, so it is no surprise that they've developed this hybrid system. Roger Bowden, chairman and founder of Niftylift explained, Weve always been known for producing machines with dual power system... it really is development of that concept. We want to make it more efficient. The hybrid system was conceptualised for optimum utilisation and lower operation costs, in addition to environmental considerations. HR 17's hybrid technology allows usage of either electric only or the diesel engine, or both. The operator has the option to use both power engines to increase the power provided. During hybrid operation, the diesel engine assists the electric motor to increase the power as may be needed in difficult tasks such as ascending a steep slope. The technology made possible the use of a smaller diesel engine, thereby significantly minimising the

fuel requirement of the machine. During electric only operation, the boom lift turns into a zero emission machine. Charging time of the batteries is relatively faster than standard mains power because of the Diesel Re-Gen feature of the hybrid power system. Full recharging of the batteries can take only around four hours, making the work platform machine potentially capable of 24-hour operation. Any excess energy from the diesel engine is brought back to the batteries for improved efficiency. HeightRider 17 Hybrid's power pack has an innovative exhaust purification mechanism that helps it minimise the emission of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and particulates. The same power pack also helps reduce noise emissions coming from the machine. http://www.niftylift.com.au
