Students are taught all subjects in English .Help in the native language is provided forclarification if sufficient students in theschool are speakers of the second languageand a translator is available. For districtpurposes students are designated as SEI 1 orSEI 2.
SEI 1—Level 1 of Sheltered EnglishImmersion –
Students are essentially in theEnglish learning phase of their education.This phase will last at least one year, but may  be extended if it is deemed appropriate forthe student.
SEI 2—Level 2 of Sheltered EnglishImmersion
Students continue to learn English but are ina transitioning process. They will take someclasses with regular English-speaking class-mates in rooms where the teacher has beenor is being trained in techniques to make thesubject matter more understandable to stu-dents who are still learning English.
