Crawford announces he will not run for re-election ST. PAUL In an email to his constituents today, State Representative Roger Crawford, R-Mora, announced that he will not be seeking re-election in the fall. The email is below. This past week or so has been an eventful one for my family and me. Late on the Friday before Memorial Day, I was admitted to United Hospital in St. Paul with a mild heart attack requiring two stents to open blockages in my heart. I was released from the hospital on Thursday and returned home. Since last July, Ive had two mild heart attacks and now five stents in my heart. Needless to say, this has my family and me concerned. I have decided to not run for re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 11B. Consequently, my time in the Minnesota House will end in January and a new person will represent Kanabec and Pine counties. This has been a difficult decision because I feel strongly in the conservative agenda for Minnesota. I believe the Legislature has made good strides in getting Minnesota back on a sustainable path and I would like to see that progress continue. I have been feeling very confident about winning re-election. My supporters and friends have been ready to go and I think we would have been successful. However I also believe that while I have served well and honorably, it is time for others to step forward. The term of office has not ended and I will continue to serve until it does. Thanks to all for the support and friendships I have made along the way. I have been honored and grateful to be your representative in St. Paul. Sincerely, Roger -30Crawford can be reached by phone at (651) 296-0518. He can also be contacted via e-mail at rep.roger.crawford@house.mn, or via U.S. Mail at 421 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155. --30
