TOH Puan Goh Sin Yeng, wife of the late Tun Lim Chong Eu passedaway on 29 May, 2012 at the age of 93. She died a day after Tun Lim’sbirthday. Tun Lim passed away ayear and half ago.She was described as ‘a lady of grace and dignity’ by Chief Minis-ter Lim Guan Eng. He said, “Onbehalf of the Penang state govern-ment, we extend our deepest con-dolence for the loss of Toh Puan.Penangites will remember her as alady of grace and dignity. We mournher passing and her loss is felt notonly by the family but by all Pen-angites.”CM Lim, his wife Betty Chew,DCM I Mansor Othman, Excomembers Phee Boon Poh, LydiaOng, Lim Hock Seng, Law HengKiang, Abdul Malik Kassim andPenang State Secretary Datuk Fari-zan Darus paid their last respects atthe late Toh Puan’s house. Theyalso spent some time consoling TohPuan’s children and grandchildren.CM Lim handed over the Penangflag to Lim Chien Cheng, TohPuan’s second son. “As a token of respect, the Penang state govern-ment gives this flag to your familyto be placed at her coffin during thefuneral.”On 2 June 2012, six Assembly-members - Lim Hock Seng, PheeBoon Poh, Teh Yee Cheu, Ng WeiAik, Koay Teng Hai and Koid TengGuan solemnly laid the Penangstate flag on Toh Puan’s coffin be-fore the hearse left the family home.

THE MPPP Com-munity Hall in Ba-lik Pulau was a hiveof activity whensome 70 studentsparticipated in theFun English Camp2 on May 29, 2012.The Camp or-ganised by Pertubu-han Wanita Mutiara(PWM) was spe-cially designed forthe students to en-hance their com-mand of EnglishLanguage.The 3-day activ-ity- based pro-gramme included Reading and WritingSkills, Vocabulary Building, CriticalThinking Skills, Choral Speaking, Pre-paring Props and Presentation.

-dent of Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara,Betty Chew.Also present were Penang StateSpeaker, Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain,Event Manager, Tan Lean Kee and in-structors from Penang English LanguageTeachers Association (PELLTA).Betty who is the wife of CM Lim GuanEng said she hoped the participantswould have fun while learning to improvetheir command of English and cultivateteam - work during the 3-day programme.“Besides Bahasa Malaysia, it is im-portant for all students to learn Englishas it is an international language and willbe very useful when they go overseas,”she said.Betty said as Penang is gearing itself to be an International City, it is vital forall Penangites to learn English, so theycan interact with tourists from foreigncountries.Tan Lean Kee said the programme was
