UMMARY
 
This report outlines the recommendedamendments to the sections of the Oak Harbor Municipal Code (OHMC) that detail thestandards for subdivision Oak Harbor (OHMC19.31 Planned Residential Developments(PRD) and OHMC Title 21 Subdivisions).These recommendations result from the initialphases of analysis, research and communityengagement for the Subdivision Code UpdateProject initiated at the beginning of 2008. TheProject is scheduled to conclude in June of 2009.The next step in the Project will be to developspecific code language and graphics for therecommended Code amendments outlinedhere. As with the previous phases, these willbe vetted through a public process structuredaround; staff review; regular PlanningCommission meetings; online publishing; andpublic hearing(s).There are numerous amendments required tofulfill the Project’s goals and direction. Thefollowing outlines the overall scope of these:

The structure of having Code sectionfor Subdivisions and one for PlannedResidential Developments will bemaintained;

The general format of these Codesections will also be maintained;
!
 
The most significant changes arerecommended for OHMC Title 21 andwill likely involve the development of a new section dedicated to SubdivisionDesign Standards;
!
 
A number of Sections will be removedto eliminate redundancy; and,
!
 
The Subdivision and PRD Sectionswill be augmented with illustrationsto facilitate ease of understanding.
