Description

A portion of a spec script written for the Dexter tv show. Helpful criticism is appreciated. I am planning to send the full copy if well received.

WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE USED

03-05-09: Working on a highly revised version. I'm just keeping this one here to reflect on my past work.

I'd be interested in seeing the entire spec script if you've got it. I'll try to give you some constructive criticism: 1. Above all else, spelling and grammar are very important in making things looking professional. Make sure everything is written correctly will make people think you're a veteran at writing. 2. It appears as though Rita is pregnant at the beginning of the script, however she has the baby already by the time Dexter comes home. You may want to clarify on something about that. 3. Some of your scenes are too short. For example the scene between Syl and Rita. It goes nowhere. Each scene needs to move the story towards some ultimate goal. Dexter, as a show, doesn't have much time for filler. 4. A 16 year old boy becoming a police officer isn't too believable. In fact, I'm not even sure its legal. And why is he such a jerk? And how did he find Dexter?
