An interpretation of Biblical Cosmology and a critique of Christian Fundamentalism.

Why the Bible is not the Word of God.

This Presentation examines the question of whatJesus and his Disciples thought the Universe looked like.

As might be expected, they basically have a concept of the Universe like that of the Old Testament. That is to say, Flat with a solid Sky Dome and Heaven overhead and with the Land of the dead under the Earth.

Heaven is portrayed as a literal place up in the Sky and as a dome sitting upon a Flat Circular Earth.

Below the Earth is Sheol, the Land of the Dead. However, in the New Testament, there is an ethical judgement after death.

Sheol is now subdivided into three parts.

1)Abrahams Bosom for the virtous (mostly Old Testament)dead before the death of Jesus.Jesus leads those in Abrahams Bosom into Heaven while he is dead and then closes it down.
2)Gehenna, or Hell for the wicked.
3)The Abyss of Demons for Satan and Fallen Angels. At the end of the World, this will be shut down and its inhabitants thrown into Hell.

Everything else is generally as in the Old Testament World View.

Surprisingly, Jesus believes all of this and does not seem to know that the Earth is a sphere.

This Presentation examines the Biblical evidence for this view.
