CITY CLERK: Please add my comments to the agenda for the June 12, 2012 Executive Committeemeeting on item 2012.EX21.3, Riverdale Farm Business Plan

Dear Chair of the City’s Executive Committee:

 Mr. Rob Ford

 June 12, 2012

 Dear Mayor:

I am unable to attend the meeting of the Executive’s Committee due to
a conflict of schedule. I am however letting you know my thoughts through this short letter to youand the members of the Committee that I am 100% in support of the Coalition to Rescue
the “Riverdale Farm” for the foregoing reasons:

1.-
Riverdale Farm historic place in the hearth of Toronto’s
Citizens.

2.- The community groups and individuals feel a strong attachment to the Farm as anidyllic refuge in the heart of the city and a unique opportunity to educate childrenabout rural life and agriculture. I also support the direction of the City Council to authorize the General Manager of Parks, Forestry and Recreation to accept donations from the Parks and TreesFoundation of funds raised by the Riverdale Farm Coalition through activitiesoutlined in the attached business plan in the report (May 25, 2012) from the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, for the purposes of offsetting the operatingcosts of Riverdale Farm

I am in support of their revenue generating initiatives, Membership and Sponsorship plans. Above all of rather interest and hope not to sound conflicting , is to seek therecruitment of volunteers with valuable skills who can offset some of the current expenses in terms of Operation and Maintenance which in my opinion would help to
maintain that vision stated in the report “the vision of the Farm remains much the same as it was in 1978”
a rural farm in the heart of the City. $348,000 is a hugechunk in the operation budget of Riverdale Farm.
