Your statement "digital images are rated based on vertical lines, the 4k image is adjudged to have four thousand (4000) of these vertical lines." is not correct. 2k and 4K are the number of pixels in each horizontal line.On a 4K HDTV for example, the number of VERTICAL pixels is still only 2160 (two times 1080p)

If all the finishing work in movies are actualy made in the digital domain, why continue capture movies on film?
