FINDING EXCEL 2003 MENU COMMANDSON THE EXCEL 2007 RIBBON

To find a command in Excel 2007, use the colorcode on the Excel 2003 menu to find the correctExcel 2007 ribbon tab.Black indicates that the command is not on the ribbon.You must add it to the Quick Access Toolbar usingExcel Options - Customize if you need this commandExcel 2003 Standard and Formatting Toolbars
That Darn Ribbon!While Excel 2007 has fantasticnew features, adjusting to theribbon provides the greatestfrustration. I spent the first2 weeks wondering, “now wherethe heck would they have put theXYZ command?” This cardshows you most of the Excel2003 menus. The color squareson the menu will point you to thecorrect ribbon tab (using thecolor keyed ribbon at the bottomof this card).Minimizing the RibbonRight click the ribbon and chooseMinimize so that it doesn’t takeup too much space. When youclick on a ribbon tab, the ribbonwill expand temporarily.Customize the QATThe Save, Undo, & Redo buttonsnext to the round office icon arethe Quick Access Toolbar. Rightclick this and choose to move itbelow the ribbon. Then, rightclick and choose to customize.Add your favorite commands tothe QAT, since it is
visible! Note: If a menucommand on this card is shownwith a black square, you will
to add it to the QAT. In the Cus-tomize dialog, choose
Com-mands Not in the Ribbon
fromthe left dropdown to find thesecommands.
Commands with no square, such astool bar customization and the OfficeAssistant (Clippy) are no longeravailable. Clippy has been banishedto a cave in S. Carolina.
