I am pleased to announce that Jennifer Thiem has been hired as our new Head Coach. She comes with an impressive background as a coach (Pacic Athletic Club in Redwood City, Oak Park Swim and Racquet Club in Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa Junior College, among others), a Masters Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science, and a terric personality. She will be on deck starting Monday, January 30, coaching with Aaron Jon for a week to get to know the team before she takes the helm over. While we will certainly miss Aaron Jon, Jennifer should be a fantastic addition to the VJO coaching staff. Coach Aaron Jon

Hello VJO, I'm very sad to be writing in my last edition of the "Shark Attack" newsletter. I will be leaving sometime in early February to continue my education on a full-time basis. I came to VJO in 2006 and started coaching the Novice 2 Group on a fun, part-time job. I quickly fell in love with everything about VJO--the kids, the coaches, the families-everything VJO stands for, and somehow managed to stay for six years. I would like to sincerely thank everyone that I have had the pleasure of coaching and working with throughout my time here. VJO is most certainly a special place that provides great opportunities for our swimmers. I am truly proud to have been a part of it. " Go SHARKS!

CoachHillary Parents! Hello, VJO Swimmers and

We just had our rst trip of the year to the Vacaville Ice Sports and it was a blast. I didn't realize so many of our swimmers were also excellent ice skaters. Some skated for over 2 hours! I am already looking forward to the next trip.

February is here...It is exciting that our rst swim meet of the year is this month and it is here at home.If you still haven't registered for the meet, please register soon. We will also need parent support for the 3 days. Please let us know if you can help with the meet. Every day I am reminded that

we have a amazing group of parents and swimmers. I have only been coaching for a couple of months, however I quickly learned that we are one lucky group of people to be be part of such an amazing team! ! GO VJO! ! Coach Hillary
