negative heritage

Leah was hated by her husband, rejected, yet used sexually - this made bad impress on Reuben, who slept with father's concubine

Jacob's blessing

Based on PP: Reuben was not firm, not leading as a first-born should, was induced to lie and share the guilt for the rest of his life, rash in speech - displaying or proceeding from a lack of careful consideration of the possible consequences of an action Genesis 49:3 Reuben (1), thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: 4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

Moses' blessing Reuben had in his own name a constant reminder of his role: to be a middle person between two disunited parties. He should bring by his conduct the affection of his father to his mother Christ is a go-between holy GOD and a sinful man. Both: GOD looking at Him can be gratious to us and we too can aproach holy GOD only through Christ! John 1:29 ...Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. ... The Application

Sexually corrupted will become Eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven's sake - Mt 19:12, new-born virgins Rev 14:4 Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart [has defiled himself with a woman]. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! Job 31:1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think [LOOK] upon a maid? If you don't learn to BEHOLD JESUS, you will end up beholding all sorts of women. Be attracted to Love of JESUS will be stronger than the gravity of this earth: John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men [Reubenites] unto me.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking [Apho-raoing] unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Conclusion: Most of the Reubenites will never learn to overcome the weakness of their flesh and their eyes Yet those rare 12,000 will overcome and you and I can be among them: 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

If you have made mistakes, you certainly gain a victory if you warning. Thus you turn defeat into victory, A character formed according to the divine likeness is the the next. Reuben - Look at the Son

If through faith man becomes one with Christ, he can win life everlasting. God loves those who are redeemed through Christ, even as He loves His Son. What a thought! Can God love the sinner as He loves His own Son?-Yes; Christ has said it, and He means just what He says. He will honor all our drafts if we will grasp His promise by living faith, and put our trust in Him. Look to Him, and live. All who obey God are embraced in the prayer which Christ offered to His Father, "I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them" (John Wonderful truth, too difficult for humanity to comprehend! {1SM 300.1
