A dictionary defines professionalism

value placed on personal contributions4.
The
respect held for the contributions
of
othersIn Scouting, professionalism also requires a belief that every professional position
is
an integralpart
of
a movement whose purpose
is
to provide an ever-increasing number
of
youth with aquality program for developing character, personal fitness, and qualities
of
good citizenshipthrough chartered organizations.Personal example, dedication to the
common
goal
of
the movement, and pride
in
being a part
of
its outreach marks a professional Scouter.
