Grade Center Spreadsheet
The spreadsheet in the center o the Grade Center page is where grades are en-tered and calculated. Each student in the class has a unique row and every GradeCenter item has its own column. Some columns are Calculated Grade Columns.Each column can be hidden using the Contextual Menu in the column header;only the Last Name column cannot be hidden.The column o checkboxes that begins each row can be used to select specifcstudents to send Emails.
Interactive/Non-Interactive Views
Interactive View
The deault view that allows inlineediting o entries and reezing/unreezing o columns.
Non-Interactive View
Displays the data in a simplifedgrid with no inline editing and noreezing/unreezing o columns.This view is designed or ac-cessibility: it is easy to navigateusing only the keyboard and isaccessible by screen readers.

Enter orChangea GradeManual Grades
: You can enter or change grades manually on theGrade Center spreadsheet.
 Automatic Grades
: Some grades are automatically added to theGrade Center rom work generated in other areas o the BlackboardLearning System, such as Assessments, Assignments, and Discus-sion Board threads. Each gradable item that is created in another area o the course automatically generates a Grade Center column. Automatically entered grades can be changed manually once in theGrade Center. All changes are recorded in the Grade History.
Enter or Change a Grade From the Spreadsheet
:1. Click cell on the Grade Center spreadsheet.2. Enter a new grade or edit an existing grade andpress

. Another grade can be entered while the grade inthe previous cell is being saved.
Change a Grade From the Grade Details Page
:1. Click the
 Action Link 
in the grade cell.2. Select

Delete aGrade
Changes the
Grade Value

Drop aGrade
You can exclude a grade rom all calculations by Exempting it. Ex-empted grades can be Reverted rom the Grade Details page or romthe Grade Center spreadsheet.You can drop a grade by using a Weighted Column to automaticallydrop the lowest grade out o a particular Category, such as the low-est grade on Weekly Quizzes.You must create Categories in order to drop grades automatically.
Exempting a Single Grade:
Click the
 Action Link 
in the grade cell and select
Exempt Grade

Dropping Grades Automatically:
You can set a Calculated Column to automaticallydrop any number o lowest or highest grades. Ater selecting the
Columns
and
Categories
, enter a number in
Drop Highest

Edit orErase an Attempt
You can change the Grade Value or an individual attempt.You can change the Grade Value to Null or a specifc attempt. Theother attempts are unaected, and the latest attempt becomes theCurrent Grade. This is useul i a Student began a test and was inter-rupted and unable to complete it. Clearing the attempt allows theStudent to take the test again without having the interruption count.Click
Modify Attempt
on the Grade Details page toEdit the attempt.Click
Clear Attempt
on the Grade Details page toErase an attempt.
Undo anOverride
You can undo an Override by Reverting a grade. The Revert unctiononly works or grades that have been Overridden.Click

Grade Columns represent gradable items such as tests and papers.You can manually create Columns in the Grade Center or automati-cally generate them rom outside o Grade Center.The

Weighting grades is done by adding a
Weighted Grade

You can create severalWeighted Grade Columns and use them in other Calculated Columns(like another Weighted Grade column).1. Click
