Morin ENGL 1103 019 3 October 2011 Werewolf (Part 5) Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Any similarities to persons, places or events, unless explicitly noted, are coincidental. Moonlight is a brilliant display of color and hidden majesty. Its colors intertwine and give off an illuminating, blue color that has haunted the thoughts of man for centuries. Many legends deal with the moon, but my life was no legend. It was a frightening reality that slithered its way into my body. My breath became shallow as the moon rose above the courtyard where I stood. Footprints made by a werewolf bigger than me gave the place a pulsating feeling of insecurity and danger. My feet hit the ground hard as I ran down the cold concrete toward the edge of town where the protector would be. If I got there in time, maybe he would listen to me. Maybe he would warn the town of the ravenous beast that now lived among us. He would be the only person who could protect us. The only person who couldmy thoughts stopped abruptly. Dang it! I thought to myself. Before I got anywhere near the edge of town I was already at the dumpster. My nose was deep in rejected fast food delicacies from the day. Pleasant scents of hamburger bits and French fry fragments had taken me over. Honestly, I dont really want to remember what I ate that night. Whatever it was, it tasted good to a werewolf. That is a low standard. Werewolves eat anything. After my sudden urge to visit the dumpster subsided, my other senses awakened. I was not the only one prowling tonight.

Shuffler 2 Beside me were two pairs of glowing eyes. A white streak glistened through the darkness as one of the wolves growled. I snarled back in defense. This is my dumpster! I growled at them. Before I could even think, another sense took over, more important than hunger or defending the glorious dumpster. I smelled blood. My body rushed to the scent. My nose was filled with the aura of crimson life. It filled me full of adrenaline. Everything seemed to go in a blur as I turned the corner and witnessed something I will never forget. A woman was lying on the ground, still alive but barely, and the mature werewolf was standing over her, dripping saliva onto her red dress. Tears streaked down her face as blood escaped through the bite wound on her shoulder. A little yelp of fear came out of her as the werewolf sniffed her. Anger boiled inside of me. It was toying with her. It walked around to the other side of her and licked the wound it had made. I approached slowly, making sure that it didnt try to kill her. That is where my conscious thought ended. A loud howl erupted from the bottom of my gut as I leapt out. The air against my body swished my fur around, and in a matter of seconds, I collided with another body of fur. I tackled the mature werewolf. Intense adrenaline surged through my body as I growled and yelped. Within seconds, sharp, piercing needles broke through my skin. The sting dug deep down into my flesh as a loud whine was forced out of me. I was this werewolfs squeak toy. Fear and terror took over my helpless body in its powerful jaws. It began to crush me slowly, forcing my flesh to squish and blood to pour out on the ground. I yelped helplessly until something happened. I was dropped. My vision became blurred and everything around me became brighter. Light erupted all around me as dust entered my mouth mixed with my own blood.

Shuffler 3 I could hear the werewolf growling at something and a loud bang. Blood shot out from the creature as it yelped. It gave one more intense look at something then majestically retreated from the scene. I cold not tell what it was looking at, but the light dimmed and the blur became more intense. A figure leaned over me and I could feel a soft touch along my back. I looked up. All I could see was the color blue, but then everything went black.
