ABSTRACT
This project explores the effects that motivation has on the job performance ofnurses. Several need and motivation theories have been discussed in thestudy to clarify what might affect the motivation of nurses.The results showed that nurses who are more motivated in their jobs are moresatisfied with their performance, and less likely to leave the profession, butnegatively affects the performance if the nurses are de-motivated.It is also focuses on the dissatisfaction factors that cause nurses to leave theprofession such as, workplace violence, workplace hazard and injuries, longworking hours, effect of night shift, shortage problem, feeling under paid,unreasonable workload and lack of appreciation.The findings from this study provide information as to what changes can madeso that nurses are more motivated in their profession.
