To defeat the power of Money, a political movement would be well advised to adopt the methods of money. That is to say, participants need incentives to contribute to the cause. They need an ownership interest in their common enterprise. The website, http://www.GoldParty.org explains how.

How Occupy Wall Streetcan have Staying power
 Mimic the Method of Money
William McGaughey

Q. HowOccupy Wall Street(or any grassroots politicalmovement) can have staying power? A. ThroughGold Party.
Big Money interests currently control American politics. If people withoutmoney want political power, they can take to the streets. However, enthusiasmsuch as that exhibited in the Occupy Wall Street movement carries only so far. It’s hard to motivate people in large numbers to stay in the streets or publicsquares for an extended period of time. People need an incentive to do that - notan idealistic motive but a personal incentive. For instance, they would keepdemonstrating if they were paid. The way to topple the plutocracy is for political movements to mimic thestructure of money. They need to create their own “political money”. Political“money” consists of unequal ownership interests in a political party (Gold Party). In other words, there would be unequal voting in the party’s internal affairs. Justas the shareholders of a corporation vote for the board of directors according tothe number of shares they own, so those who belong to a political party wouldvote according to the number of “points” they had. The points would representtheir contribution to building the party. The goal is for the party to grow in size that it can win elections to public office.Once this is achieved, party members can take over the government and passany laws they want. So, while the party “points” may seem to be withoutimmediate value, they could come to mean everything. This is the dream of GoldParty. Political power trumps money.
