Definition: State of complete physical, mental andsocial well-being and not merely the absence ofdisease.
Negative health connotes (a) increased morbidity rates(TB prevalence, HIV/AIDS incidence, vaccinepreventable diseases, diarrhea/pneumonia ratesamong young children, malnutrition among pre-schoolers, non-communicable disease (CVS, COPD,diabetes [lifestyle]) and (b) increased mortality rates(neonatal deaths, IMR, MMR, deaths due to heart andbrain attacks; accidents, trauma)
