ACT I
FADE IN:

EXT. DIMMSDALE - THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
PUSH IN ON A GAZEBO where SEVERAL CHRISTMAS CAROLERS sing as
big fluffy flakes of holiday SNOW fall around them.

1.

CAROLERS(singing)
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave
to me, a partridge in a pear tree...

CAMERA PANS through the town. The streets and storefronts are ablaze
with Christmas lights and decorations. PEOPLE scurry back and forth
as they shop.

2. PEOPLE
(Scurry Walla)
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. AN ELECTRONICS STORE - SAME TIME

Dozens of TVs are tuned to the same channel. PEOPLE scurry back and forth in front of the display as the camera PUSHES IN on one particular TV.

ON TV - We see our local newscaster CHET UBETCHA.
3.

CHET UBETCHA
Yes, with the partridge in a pear tree crisis
over, it’s Christmas time again. Good evening
Dimmsdale, it’s Christmas and I’m Chet
Ubetcha.

A CITY WORKER hangs LIGHTS on the town CHRISTMAS TREE. THREE
KIDS build a SANTA SNOWMAN. TWO OTHER CITY WORKERS paint
CANDY CANE STRIPES around streetlight poles.

4.

CHET UBETCHA (OS)
Yes, Christmas! Better than Easter!
More loving than Valentine’s Day! And
nowhere near as useless as Arbor Day!

EXT. TOWN SQUARE - THREE BIG STATUES of THE EASTER BUNNY,
CUPID and a big TREE GUY are pulled away by ARMY TANKS and
replaced with an EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE SANTA STATUE.

..even the bitterest of enemies have put their
differences aside...

...as everyone anxiously prepares for the
arrival of Santa Claus...

A KID stands on the roof of his house, putting up LANDING LIGHTS and
a PARKING SPACE for Santa.
7.

CHET UBETCHA
I’m Chet Ubetcha saying, I Ho, Ho, Hope you
have a Merry Christmas.

PULL BACK to see it was the TV in TIMMY’S LIVING ROOM. TIMMY,
dressed as an ELF, stands in the middle of an enormous pile of
WRAPPED GIFTS as he finishes wrapping the last one. COSMO and

WANDA are nearby as PACKAGES.
8.
TIMMY
(angrily) Ugh!
9.
WANDA
What’s wrong, Timmy?
10. TIMMY
Merry Christmas? I’ll bethe never had to
spend Christmas Eve with Vicky!
VICKY enters with a teetering pile of heavy FRUITCAKES.
11. VICKY
Hey, Frosty the Snowtwerp, got some more
fruitcakes for you to wrap!
She drops the heavy load on Timmy and happily prances OS. Cosmo
and Wanda <POOF!> into their normal selves.
12. TIMMY
Boy, every Christmas Eve I’m stuck doing
whatever Vicky tells me to do.
13. COSMO
I know! Remember last Christmas when she
sold you and your friends as ice sculptures?
