Bereaeste o bauturaalcoolica obtinuta din materiiprime precum: hamei, malt(din orz), drojdie de bere, apa.
Aceasta contine intre 2% si7% alcool in functie de marcadar in general cantitatea dealcool la o bere normala estede pana la 5%. Chiar si bereafara alcool are in ea oconcentratie foarte mica dealcool, de pana la 0,5%.Se crede ca in lume ar exista momentan peste 20 000 de sortimentede bere, imbuteliate in peste 150 de variante.
 
Istoria berii
Se crede ca berea a fost descoperita intamplator laceva vreme dupa ce oamenii au inceput sa cultivecerealele (10000 I.Hr.), asta dupa ce au descoperit cadaca inmoaie cerealele in apa, acestea incoltesc si devindulci la gust.
Fabricarea berii in scopul comercializarii a inceputundeva in jurul anului 1200, pe teritoriul unde acum segaseste Germania. In acele timpuri berea era iubita si in Anglia, unde se pare ca au si fost stabilite primelestandarde de calitate a berii, astfel ca in 1482, BreaslaBerarilor din Londra a adoptat un regulament care saasigure calitatea berii.
Primele cutii de bere fabricate din aluminiu au aparut inanul 1935.
