ACCURACY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT In order to resolve the authenticity of the New Testament in the Bible,a right thinking Muslim cannot deny the following facts: Fact number 1: The existence of 5300 Greek Manuscripts and parts of manuscripts, 10,000 copies of the Latin Vulgate and 9300 other versions, together with the papyrus and early uncial manuscripts which is dated much closer to the original than any of the other antique writings, proves that the New Testament HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED TO SUIT CHRISTIANS. Fact Number 2: The absence of demonstrated fraud or mistakes on the side of any of the authors of the New Testament proves in general that the authors were trustworthy in their version of events. Fact Number 3: The writings of trusted Christian sources outside the New Testament also confirms the authenticity thereof. Fact number 4: The existence of a large number of Jewish and secular reports about Jesus confirms a large number of basic principles of the New Testament. Fact number 5: Specific archeological data regarding the New Testament proves that the authors wrote with care and accuracy. Fact number 6: Most first century enemies of Jesus and the apostholic church would definitely have wanted to prove fraud or to highlight any other problems if they could, but they failed to come up with a single one. Fact number 7: The presence of a large number living and trustworthy eye witnesses of the events which have been written, but especially the death and resurrection of Jesus, is poowerful proof that what is written, is true. Fact number 8: There is uniformity under conservative and even more liberal authorities, and they are satisfied about the authenticity of authorship and the earliest date of the Biblical books, which further confirms the integrity of the New Testament. Fact number 9: Time and again, every negative conclusion of the higher critics regarding the authenticity of the Bible is disproven with basic factual research, which indeed weakens the critic's stand point everytime they tackle this issue. Fact number 10: There is very clear legal and other evidence which further strengthens the authenticity of the New Testament. Look af for instance legal experts such as Hugo Grotius, who is generally accepted as "the father of international law" who wrote the book "The Truth of the Christian Religion" as long ago as 1627!! Look at professor Simon Greenleaf of Harvard, the greatest authority in the field of English and American law practice from the 19th Century who wrote "Testimony of the Evangelists" in which he defends in no uncertain terms the authenticity of the Gospels. In other words, these above and many more examples from lawyers and experts in law, proves that in a court of law, when questioned and cross questioned by lawyers, the authenticity of the Gospels and the whole of the New Testament is indubitably proven. If you as a devout follower of Islam is so convinced that you are correct, then there will be no harm in you reading "Ready with an Answer" as well as "The Facts on Islam" written by John Ankerberg and John Weldon and published by Harvest House, even if it is just to give you more ammunition to fight Christianity with. However, chances are that your eyes will be opened to the truth and that you will be set free for follow Jesus, whho died for all our sins (Muslims included) if only we will accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. It is my prayer today and always that our Lord Jesus Christ will do His work as He promised to help you to the truth. Amen
