Question 1 A cylindrical container is filled with gas to three quarter of its height of 1.2 m. The diameter of the cylinder is 200 mm. If the initial temperature is 20 C and when the bottom of cylinder is heated the temperature rose to 60 C. Determine: a. the final temperature in Kelvin b. the final volume of gas after heating c. the law obeyed by the process Question 2 A spherical container contains two third of its volume with air of 1.2 kg/m3. If the radius of the sphere is 500 mm and the air is allowed for cooling from room temperature to temperature below 10 C, determine: a. the mass of air b. the final volume of air changes to liquid due to cooling process c. the variable which is kept constant for this process Question 3 A piston below is used to compress the gas inside the cylinder of 200 mm diameter and length of 800 mm. Initially the pressure inside the cylinder is 100 kPa (gauge). Upon being pushed by the piston, the pressure increased to 150 kPa (gauge), determine: a. the initial and final absolute pressure of the gas b. the final volume of the gas after compression

Question 4 A mass of gas has a volume of 4 m3 when the temperature is 120 C and the pressure is 20 kPa (gauge). Determine the volume of this mass of gas at standard temperature and pressure. If the mass of gas is 4 kg, calculate its density and state what type of gas it is.
