Father Joe’s Village: Father Joe’s Village serves over 3,000 meals a day, every day of the year, to the homeless in San Diego. Mt. Helix Park: Join us for a work day at Mt. Helix Park in La Mesa. Volunteers will be staining, sanding, painting, weeding, and more. Water and a FREE pizza lunch will be provided to all volunteers! Saturday, 7 July 0900-1200; 30 VOLUNTEERS MAX
Sunrise Senior Living Center: Volunteer to spend time with the residents of Sunrise Senior Living Center, an assisted living community. Volunteers facilitate games such as Bingo and cards, and spend time visiting with residents one on one. Kayak and Snorkeling Trip: The ASY and Pacific Beacon are pairing up for a kayaking and snorkeling trip in La Jolla! Cost is $36 and includes: lunch at In-N-Out-Burger, kayaking, snorkeling, and transportation. Contact Johnny Mercado (619.231.3400 x110) to sign up. Feeding America San Diego: The ASY will be sorting and stocking the Feeding America San Diego warehouse, preparing food for distribution to organizations and food banks all throughout San Diego. Crime Victims’ Oak Garden: The Oak Garden is a memorial to victims of violent crime in San Diego. Join the ASY as we help maintain memorials though various projects in the garden. FREE lunch and water will be provided to all volunteers! Saturday, 21 July 0900-1200; 25 VOLUNTEERS MAX
Neighborhood Exchange: The ASY has partnered with the San Diego Food Bank for a free food giveaway for military families. Volunteers are needed for organizing food, as well as for set up, carrying food to cars, and breakdown. Volunteers must provide their own transportation to and from the event. Mission Valley Preserve Cleanup: The ASY is teaming up with the San Diego River Park Foundation for a cleanup at the Mission Valley Preserve. Join us as we pick up trash and debris to help keep the preserve clean. Supplies will be provided. Saturday, 28 July 0900-1200; 40 VOLUNTEERS MAX
