Universal Music Group owns a music publisher, Universal Music Publishing Group, which became the world's largest following the 2007 acquisition of BMG Music Publishing. In 2006, Universal Music Publishing Group bought BMG Music Publishing for 1.63 billion which was the third largest publishing group, this made Universal Music Publishing group the largest music publisher in the world.

Warner Music Group (WMG) is the third largest business group and family of record labels in the recording industry, making it one of the big four record companies. The company was founded in 1958. WMG is now owned by Access Industries as of 2011.
