New Infant Home

Open for Business
The new location for the Emmanuel store is now open! Down the street from the team house, it is centrally situated between the boys and girls houses. Children, staff, volunteers, and visitors can take a quick walk to grab a snack while relaxing at one of the tables.

With the arrival of many new infants to the Emmanuel toddler house, some of them in the company of their teenage mothers, we began to see an increasing need for separate housing for these young infants. With the financial support from Gulf Beach Baptist Church, Panama City Beach, FL, we built a beautiful new home that currently houses 18 babies and 5 teenage mothers. The house, decorated and furnished by members of GBBC, includes 2 dormitories, living room, kitchen, laundry, dining hall and nice bathroom facilities. It provides the infants with a much-needed space to play, rest, eat and bathe. We are hoping in the near future to add an adjacent outside play area for this house.

High School Field Day

The High School Field Day is a returning event every year that kids and teachers look forward to. This year the celebration was enhanced with the participation of Team Honduras from Macon, GA. Snacks, games, and class competitions were the key ingredients to a successful and joyful week for the High Schoolers. The three-day event kicked off with the everpopular soccer tournament. The winning class had to beat the team of teachers to win the title. Students continued their class rivalries the following day during individual and group competitions including Blind Banana, Bobbing for Mangoes, What the Queen Wants, Alphabet Soup Race, Soccer Skills, and other activities. The event wrapped up with the academic competitions, which challenged and highlighted students skills in Math, English, Science, Spelling, and Drawing.

Thank you to all of our teams!

Since March we have had the privilege of joining forces with no less than 7 different teams in caring for our almost 600 infants, toddlers, children, preteens, teens and special needs children and youth. These dedicated teams inspire and encourage us in our tasks and we know that they equally get inspired and refreshed in being able to serve our Lord here at Emmanuel. We give our sincere thanks and pray blessings over the individuals and churches involved at Emmanuel: Sequatchie Valley Preparatory Academy, TN; Grove Level Baptist Church, Dalton, GA; Tabernacle Baptist Church, Musella, GA; Team Denmark 2012; Union University GO Team Jackson TN; Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, Macon GA; Team Honduras, Macon, GA.

Message from David & Lydia

This

Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. ~ Joshua 1:8-9

This was the word that was given to the graduating students at Lee Scott Academy Auburn, AL, where one of our former students from Emmanuel, Emerson Larios, graduated with honors as salutatorian. Nolvia Brooks has already graduated from there, and Claudia Rodriguez is currently attending. In the Scripture Joshua is commanded to be strong and courageous - two words that have power, action and require discipline. These students have ended one chapter of their lives and have begun another. In this new chapter there will come many challenges and temptations that will take more than an education to conquer. It will require wisdom, guidance and direction that only the Holy Spirit can give. Their true success in life can only come from the Lord. In Jeremiah 29:11 God says, I have a plan for you, plans for good and not evil, and to give you a future and hope, but finding out this plan requires hearing from the Lord and obeying. His leading, guiding, and helping will aid them in finding that plan for their lives and not just what the world has to offer them. In these latter days as sin runs rampant, they will need to be strong, courageous, take a stand for what they know is right and true, and not compromise with the worlds standards. Then and only then will they truly be successful in this life.
