The Diocese of Des Moines is sponsoring an Independence Celebration Walk and Picnic. Come join us on July 1 when we begin the walk at noon at St. Ambrose Cathedral, 6th Avenue and High Street, in downtown Des Moines. We'll walk to the east lawn of the Capitol for a picnic in celebration of our religious liberty. Hear music, speakers and be a part of the ecumenical prayer service. Can't make the walk? Join us at the Capitol east lawn for the picnic. Ample parking is available. The Diocese of Des His Excellency the Most Rev. Richard E. Pates has chosen Chariton as the location of this year's Urban-Rural Farm Mass. An outdoor Mass will be held on August 26, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. just west of town off of Highway 34. This celebration has been an initiative of Bishop Pates to not only highlight the rural nature of the diocese but also the interconnectedness of the rural and urban communities. All other Masses will be canceled this weekend in order to help coordinate this event and encourage all to attend. Please come out to support both the theme of the event as well as our appreciation for the Bishop's decision to honor us with this celebration.

Tithes- $664 Totus Tuus "Totally Yours" summer youth program will be July 15-20. This is a great opportunity for your child to have a fun and faith filled week learning about the Catholic faith. This years theme is "The Creed of Our Faith" and also the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. If you have not signed your child up, please contact Sandy Kunze (641-344-1797). First through eighth grade students will participate from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Snacks and lunch will be provided. Totus Tuus for the High School youth is for youth going into 9th grade through college. They will begin July 15th and run through July 19th and it will be from 8:00-10:00 p.m. The cost is $10/student or max. of $20/family.

Eucharistic Holy Hour Thursday, July 5 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
