1. Design a selection system for staffing Grade 1's production department. What knowledge, skills, and abilities should the qualified candidates possess? Answer: As Grade 1s production department switched into computerized production and production-control systems, they faced the obligation of recruiting a new set of employees with essential skills. So, we need to design a selection system for staffing freshers for Grade 1s production department. This will be based on three criteria: Ample educational qualification which is the key condition to apply for a job. Knowledge and skills based on how to operate computerized production system using relevant softwares and tools, the reason for new recruitment in Grade 1. Physical and mental ability to investigate fitness for the job requirement and behavioural traits to make certain a better working environment, respectively. The selection system will flag off with initial screening using submitted resumes and short list those employees with adequate educational background. To test for the second criteria, a performance or prototype test will be taken to judge their working capability (how fast and how perfect at the same time). A cognitive behavioural test will be taken to understand personality traits to ensure better working atmosphere, by the company. An average good result from both the two tests will select passing candidates or conditional job offer which will be permanent lying on his/her on-the-job performance.

2. How large a role do you think personalities or fit issues should play in Grade 1's selection system? How much of a role should tool production experience play? Explain your answer. Answer: Personalities or fit issues would play a significant role in Grade 1's selection system. As for personality test, it is important to analyse the behaviour and determine for any personality disorder like if employee is ill-behaved, hot-tempered or has a tendency to be dishonest. This can work for employer to maintain a proper work environment and safety of the company. In order to test for personality or fit issues, the interviewer can keep a good observation on the applicant by asking any irrelevant or personal question and see his/her reaction. Job related or general knowledge questions can be asked to test applicants knowledge and self confidence. The medical health report will rationalize the physical fitness issues. Tool production experience will definitely play a vital role in the selection system. While recruiting, this should be given priority. If workers already possess the tool production experience along with new technical skills, they would be able to operate the computerized production system more easily and quickly. Also they will need minimal training, thus saving companys time and money.

3. The Grade 1 workers who did not take or were not eligible for early retirement may or may not be acceptable workers under the new selection system. How should the company determine what to do with its current workers? Answer: The Grade 1 workers who did not take or were not eligible for early retirement may or may not be acceptable workers under the new selection system. products timely to Customers, For current workers, the Company switched into company must take essential steps to train them. To deliver the computerized production and production-control systems which made skills of some current workers obsolete. So to continue employment of those workers, Grade 1 should train them by skilled trainers to revise their knowledge and skills on computerized system. Therefore, they will be updated with the current requirement and continue to work because technology has upgraded and it is not their fault. They can be helped to adopt the workplace change.

4. How could you collect evidence regarding the validity, or lack of validity, for the various predictors that Grade 1 could use? Answer: If we could observe that the customers are able to

receive the ordered products timely delivered from the company as a result of using computerized production systems, then we could say that predictors prediction was valid. But if we could observe that the Grade 1 Company still could not deliver their products timely, though they used computerized production systems, then it can be concluded that predictors prediction was not valid.
