Fast Food Icon Found Dead in West L.A. Residence by Mike Hayward(HMS) West Hollywood, California - Three days after being terminated as the iconicfrontman to the eponymous fast food chain, Burger King has been found dead in his WestLos Angeles apartment.[Photo: Burger King]The body was discovered early Sunday by a North Crescent Heights apartment complexneighbor returning from a La Cienega nighclub party around 2a.m. A Los Angeles SheriffsDepartment spokeswoman said that while a suicide note was found, a final determinationof cause of death will not be released until a coroner's examination is completed later thisweek.On Thuesday, a corporate spokesperson for the Brazilian investment firm 3G Capitalannounced that it would immediately discontinue all use of the Burger King logo in favor of a more product-related image, namely the guacomole, swiss cheese, and baconCalifornia Whopper. The image change was prompted by lower sales figures over the pastsix months, a drop of six percent against major competitor MacDonalds.Along with newmanagement, the fast food chain has also hired a new ad agency, McGarry Bowen.McGarry's ads are typically derided in the industy as "conventional, formulaic, and unhip.""People want a reason to go back to Burger King," Senior V.P. of Marketing Alex Maccedotold USA Today.
