HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECTS


Mt. Scott Arleta is a neighborhood with a strong focus on livability and community pride for all its members.

NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS
LUST: LAND USE, SUSTAINABILITY & TRANSPORTATION Meets every third Thursday of the Month at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Scott Community Center Description: Serves as a forum for the discussion and evaluation of land use, sustainability and transportation plans and policies that affect the neighborhood. This committee will host neighborhood engagement activities to seek input on these issues and with neighborhood input may also take a position in favor or in opposition to significant land use, sustainability or transportation issues and present their position to the Neighborhood Board for further action. COMMUNICATIONS! Description: This committee serves to get out the word about neighborhood events, projects, meetings, and other important information that is important to you! This committee writes and designs the Neighborhood E-News Letter and updates the following: MSA website (www.mtscottarleta.com), Facebook (www.Facebook.com/Mt.Scott.Arleta.Neighborhood), and Twitter @MtScottArleta Contact: Terah Beth, MSA Vice Chair at msana.news@gmail.com or by phone at 503.746.8228 72nd AVENUE: VISION & STRATEGY Description: This is a new committee that will serve as a forum to discuss and develop the neighborhoods future vision and strategy for 72nd Avenue. NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECTS
ARLETA TRIANGLE: Last saturday of every month we'll host a work party for the Arleta Triangle. We'll gather at 10am (most months) on the Triangle (except January & February, when we'll meet at the Mt Scott Community center). We'll work for a few hours, clean up, then dig in to a potluck lunch. OUR HAPPY BLOCK: Our Happy Block is located on SE Woodstock and SE Martins between 80th and 82nd Avenues. This project is transforming the Calvary Church parking lot into a safe, beautiful and ecologically friendly area! (projects include: new mural, depaving, rain gardens, native plant learning garden) Need immediate volunteers for irrigation installation help and weeding parties, plus future lighting installation.
