***** CHAPTER 1 - The beauty of an autumn evening

Once upon a time, on a beautiful autumn evening, a young man was sitting on a rock near a beautiful lake in front of his house. He was enjoying the beauty of the lake and was playing a nice melody with his flute complementing the beauty of nature. The lake was having water level very near the rock where he was sitting. A through bred horse was standing behind him.

He stopped playing the flute and threw a stone in the lake.

Then he went to his horse. He rode on the horse and followed a path that had beautiful trees on the sides.

Soon, the young man reached a garden. He noticed a nice white Arabian horse tied near the garden. With curiosity he looked inside the garden.

He saw a girl setting on a bench near a well. The young man said, Oh! Who is sitting there? I should go and see. He saw a beautiful young lady sitting on the bench. A colourful bird was sitting on her shoulder.

A rabbit came hopping near her. The young lady exclaimed with joy, Oh! Such a cute little rabbit! I should go and touch it. Seeing the lady, the rabbit ran away. And the lady started chasing the little rabbit.

The rabbit kept on running and it fell into the well by mistake. The lady ran to the well and saw the rabbit struggling hard to save itself from getting drowned. The young lady became very sad and started sobbing. She blamed herself and said, Oh what I have done? How do I save this bunny?

Seeing all this, the young man got down from his horse and came running inside the garden towards the well. He jumped into the well endangering his life to save the innocent rabbit.

He got hold of the rabbit in his hands. He then climbed the wall of the well to come out of it. He came out of the well with the rabbit safe in his hand.

The lady took rabbit from his hand and touched it softly with affection and said, Sorry bunny, it was my mistake. I will not trouble you again. She put the rabbit down. The rabbit looked at the young man as if it was thanking him. Then the rabbit ran to the bushes and disappeared. The young lady said with appreciation, Thank you, young man. You came just on time. By the way, who are you? The young man said, Hello young lady! I am Veer Singh. Who are you? What are you doing here?

The young lady replied, Hello Veer! I am Divya. I come here every day and enjoy the beauty of the nature. She points to the picturesque view of the garden. The garden was full of beautiful flowers and view of a hill making it all more beautiful. The young man agreed and said, Yes, indeed it is very beautiful here.

Then the young lady said, It is getting late I should go now. Thank you again, Veer. The young lady went out of the garden in a hurry with the rainbow bird sitting on her shoulder. The young man said, See you tomorrow, Divya. Bye, bye. The young lady replied, Bye, bye. The young man kept staring at the lady while she was leaving the garden, as he was mesmerized by the beauty of the young lady. Chapter 2 A hard test for true love

The next day, the young man waited anxiously near the well with his hands behind him. He was moving side by side restlessly. Divya walked in the garden and went towards the well. Seeing Veer there, Divya said, Hello Veer! You are already here. Veer went to her in a hurry. Without wasting anytime, he bent on his knees with a flower in his hand and proposed her, Yes, I was waiting for you. Will you marry me, Divya? Divya was surprised and took a step back and said, Ah! That was a pleasant surprise. But you dont know me. At this, the young man replied, It doesnt matter who you are - I just like you. The young lady proudly said, I am Divya Singh - the princess of Sundarpur.

Veer got shocked, rose and took a step back. He exclaimed with surprise, What?

Yes! I am the princess of Sundarpur, Divya said pointing to the kingdom down the hill. Then she told Veer, You are a brave man. I will accept your proposal only if you pass my test. With a little hope, Veer came nearer to her and asked, A Test? Ok - what is that? Divya put the challenge, You must make a hole in the water for me.

Veer was shocked and exclaimed, That is impossible! Divya said with sparkles in her eyes, If this is true love then even miracles can happen. Though Veer was little discouraged by the impossible task and he said, Of course I love you dearly! Give me some time.

Divya said, Sure! Come back with your answer, I will wait for you, Veer. The young man started to walk back sadly with his head down. He rode his horse. Then he started for his home after waving goodbye to Divya. Veer was thinking while sitting on his horse, I really love her and I do want to marry her. But how can I make a hole in the water? I need to think. CHAPTER 3 - Digging hole in the water

Months passed and soon it was the winter season. Veer was sitting on a rock near the lake in front of his house. He was playing flute remembering Divya. Veer stopped playing the flute and started thinking, Oh Divya! Why didnt you agree to marry me? What was the need of such impossible condition?

Suddenly his noticed holes made on the flute. Then, he took a stone and threw it on the lake. The stone bounced off the ice as the lake was completely frozen. Then Veer remembered what Divya had asked for. He looked at the frozen lake. Then he again looked at the flute. Veer exclaimed in joy, Wow - got an idea!

He quickly went to his horse and rode on it. Soon, Veer reached the garden where he had met Divya.

There, he saw Divya, sitting on a bench. He got down from his horse and said eagerly to Divya, Hello Divya! I want to show you something. Come. He picked a big wooden log kept nearby and put the log inside the snow. He removed the log and there was a hole in the snow.

Then, Veer looked up and shouted, Your highness - here is the hole in the water. Divya said happily, I am so happy, Veer. I knew you will pass this test! I was waiting for you only. Veer asked Divya, So will you marry me now? Divya blushed and agreed.

The bird flew and sat on Veers shoulder from Divyas shoulder. Veer happily said, Look, even your bird has given the approval. Then Divya told Veer, But first you should meet my father - the king of Sundarpur. Veer agreed and said, Absolutely, let us go.

They both went near their horses and started riding horses. Chapter 4 Meeting the King

Soon they reached the gate of Sundarpur. Two soldiers on the gate saluted the princess and allowed them to go inside.

The king of Sundarpur was roaming in the garden. Divya went running towards her father. She said excitedly, Father, Father - I have found my prince charming! The king hugged his daughter and enquired, Thats great news! Who is the lucky boy? She pointed to Veer standing behind her and then she told the king how they had met and about the test.

The King walked towards Veer. Veer a bowed in front of the king to show his respect. King said, God bless you! Young man! It seems like my daughter may have made a correct choice. But, you are not a prince! Then he paused for a moment. Seeing his response Veer and Divya got worried. King said, I need to be sure that she is marrying a deserving man. So you need to pass my test. Veer said confidently, Sure my lord - I will pass any test for her.

The king clapped his hand twice. A helper came to the king with a pot covered with lid. At kings command, the helper opened the lid of pot and showed to the young man, Veer. It was full of water. King said, Young man - can you make the water disappear from the pot without making any hole in the pot nor drinking nor throwing away the water from the pot? Veer looked at the king and thought, Hmm - how is this possible? Then he looked at his love, Princess Divya and said, My Lord - For the love of princess, I am sure Ill be able to do this impossible task also. Please give me some time to work on this! The king granted the time saying, As you wish!

Veer again bowed in front of the king and said goodbye to Divya and started to go back. Divya said, I will wait for you, Veer. Veer waved her goodbye and said, I will be back soon. Bye Veer came out of the garden and rode out of the kingdom. CHAPTER 5 - The magic of making water disappear
