Terms & conditionsCONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Original work in any medium by any artist living and working in New Zealand that has been completed between September2011 and August 2012.
One work per artist may be submitted.
ACCEPTANCE OF WORK:
a. No wet artwork or work that may emit offensive odours will be accepted.b. There is no selection process, however the organiser reserves the right to decline any work deemed unsuitable.c. Work entered for this exhibition must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.
$30 per artist, plus return freight ticket. No refunds will be given.
entry must be clearly identified on the back of the artwork with the artist’s Name, Address, Phone number, Artwork
Title, Media and Price.
A swing tag must be attached to your artwork to assist with cataloguing. The tag must be firm paper or cardboard and clearly state
the artist’s Name, Address, Phone number, Artwork Title, Media and Price. Attach a tag to a piece of string and staple or tap
e it firmly to the top of the back of your work. The string needs to be long enough to reach over the work to be visible on the front side for cataloguing.
This is optional but is limited to a maximum of 60 words and emailed to email@example.com by Wednesday August22, 2012.
For hanging works, the maximum dimension cannot exceed 1500mm for the longest length. For plinth works themaximum dimensions cannot exceed a footprint of 400mm x 400mm.
Larger freestanding sculpture will be accepted at organiser’s discretion
Entry must be presented in a manner that facilitates straightforward presentation i.e. framed where appropriate & with displayor hanging devices. All works with an electrical component must be accompanied by a current Safety Certificate from a Master Electrician.Incorrect entry procedure or failure to observe the conditions herein may at the discretion of the organiser disqualify an entry. Where we haveconcern as to safety, security, size or exhibition issues with a specific work this will be discussed with the artist and if the work needs to bewithdrawn, the artist will be refunded their entry fee. Because of spatial constraints large installations may not be accepted. The presentation andlayout of the exhibition is the responsibility of the organiser and no discussion will be entered into.
SALES AND COMMISSIONS:
Your work is to be for sale. Commission of 25% shall be charged on sales and must be included in the sale pricequoted. Artists will be contacted if their work is sold.
The judges at their discretion may decide n
ot to present an award. The judges’ decision shall be final and
no correspondenceentered into.
While we will endeavour to protect copyright, work is submitted at the artists own risk. Any work received into theexhibition may be used for promotional purposes by the event organiser, the Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award Trust.
RECEIVING DATE AND LOCATION:
Entry fee and work must be delivered to the Community Arts Centre, 19 Taupo Quay, Wanganui, fromAugust 20 to 22, 2012 between the hours of 10.30am to 4pm. NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED
Artists not delivering/collecting their work in person must pack their work in a manner that facilitates straightforward returnpackaging. Exhibits must be securely packaged and delivered free of all charges with a return freight ticket included. No payment whatsoever shallbe made by the Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award Trust for freight or other charges incurred in the delivery or return of exhibits.
COLLECTION OF WORKS:
a. Collection of work by anyone other than the artist must be authorised in writing by the artist.b. At the conclusion of the exhibition work must be collected on Saturday September 15, 2012, between the hours of 10.30 am and 4pm. Entriessubmitted with return freight ticket(s) will be sent from this day.c. After this date the Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award Trust has the right to sell or otherwise dispose of unclaimed work.
The responsibility for insurance for work submitted by or on behalf of an artist (including transit) is with the artist or his/heragent. The Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award Trust does not act as an agent for any artist. The Whanganui National Art Exhibitionand Award Trust will take all reasonable care with the work, but shall not be liable under any circumstance whatsoever for damage caused to anywork irrespective of how that damage is caused, while the work is: in transit between the artist and the Whanganui National Art Exhibition andAward Trust and the Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award Trust and artist, in the possession of the Whanganui National Art Exhibitionand Award Trust, or under the control of the Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award Trust.
