Pins & Needles Crinkled Summer Scarf Tutorial
We love to make scarves, because they are quick and simple to sew. Recently we were inspired to give the basic scarf some personality by adding some wrinkles...yes, wrinkles! Forget the iron and bring on lots ocrinkles.
• Fabric - approximately 1.5 - 2 yards - lightweight cotton, voile, chiffon or rayon - something that is not tooheavy (you could also sew a bunch of scraps together)• Sewing thread to match• Pins• Rubber Bands• Dryer Bag
1.Cut two pieces of fabric into 12”X72” rectangles. (you can decide how wide and long you would like yourscarf) 2.With right sides together pin and sew along the two long sides leaving both short ends open, but makesure to leave approximately 1” - 2” unsewn at each end
3.Turn right side out and iron seams - you now have one long tube4.Turn under the ends (the 1”- 2” that you did not sew) so that they are nice and neat and pin in place (youcan press before sewing to make it easier) - topstitch each end5.Take your completed scarf and thoroughly wet it under warm water - wring out excess water
