The proportional distribution of the migrant eligible youth across the grade categories has remained remarkably stable during the most recent three years. Across the three years of those enrolled in school, 8 percent were in kindergarten, 41 percent in elementary school, 22 percent in middle school, and 29 percent in high school. Out-of-school youth represented about 26 percent and pre-school youth 3 percent of all identified

As shown in Figure 15, the percentage of migrant students meeting the state math standard is about half of the statewide total and far below the state average in all grades.

As shown in Figure 20, a majority (58 percent) of all students testing statewide met the science standards compared to 21 percent of migrant students, leading to an overall 37 percentage point migrant science achievement gap.
