Summary Paragraph
This nomination consists of an inner city residential subdivision filledwith houses from the late nineteenth century and turn of the centuryperiods. These houses are largely single-family dwellings and areprincipally of wood frame construction. They are interspersed with theoccasional apartment building, neighborhood commercial building and areall clustered west and north of the Jones Home for Children. Thisfacility is centered about a massive Colonial Revival style brick buildingcapped by a spire-like cupola. All of these properties are set alongtree-lined streets in a neighborhood three miles southwest of downtownCleveland.
