Wooster Memorial Park is a riot of blooms from the middle of April and into May. One of our resident botanists will lead the walk on Sunday, April 22nd at 2:00 PM, to some of the best concentrations of spring wildflowers. An additional bonus on this before the leaves are out walk is the spectacular view of the Rathburn Run ravine.
Although this is also a spring wildflower walk, the display of wildflowers will be different. In the two weeks since the first spring wildflower walk, a whole new selection of wildflowers will be in bloom for walkers to enjoy. Do come out to Wooster Memorial Park on Sunday, May 6th at 2:00 PM and see what Wooster Memorial Park has to show. One of our resident botanists will lead this walk.
Wooster Memorial Park has wildflowers in the summer, too. With all the leaves out, we sometimes forget to notice these wildflowers, but they are there waiting to be enjoyed. One of our resident botanists will lead this walk on Sunday, June 10th at 2:00 PM.
A few years ago a prairie was planted at Wooster Memorial Park. It has created quite a show in August, and into September. The brilliance of colors against the tree foliage is impressive. Although this will be a wildflower walk, the birds that are also enjoying the prairie flowers are great to watch, too. Do come out to the Park on Sunday, August 12th at 2:00 PM for a walk led by one of our resident botanists.
There will be additional events in the fall, including a fall wildflower walk on Sunday, September 23rd at 2:00 PM. Check the Fall Online Brochure for these events.
