Steel Trap™
Metal/Graphite Gasket
Chesterton Steel Trap Metal/ Graphite Gasket is manufactured with concentric, isolatedconvolutions in sheet stainless steel that trap pure graphite against the flange face. Asthe flange is tightened, the convolutions are progressively flattened, thus trapping thegraphite sealing media. Not only is a highly effective seal effected against both faces of the flange, but the graphite is protected against oxidizing atmospheres and corrosives.Steel Trap gaskets can remain in place and will continue to seal effectively until removalis necessary for equipment servicing or repair. These seals pay for themselves manytimes over in reduced maintenance and downtime. The unique, self-locating designallows the same size gasket to be used in the vast majority of flange pressure classes. This results in unmatched time savings in locating the right gasket, while reducinginventory and virtually eliminating the chance of incorrect gasket selection.Enlarge ImageRequest Pricing & DeliveryProduct Support Ask an Expert

Reinforced Graphite
Chesterton 459 graphite sheet with a nickel foil reinforcement is designed for use in high temperature, high pressure flange applications. The nickel foil makes 459 easier to cutthan other reinforced gasket sheets. It has excellent chemical resistance and can beused up to 1600°F (870°C) in a non-oxidizing atmosphere.Enlarge ImageRequest Pricing & DeliveryProduct Support Ask an Expert
