I enjoy the feel of coffee beans between my fingers and the sound a spoon makes when it is struck, concave down, onto water damaged wood at noon in the summertime. I am twenty-two years old, bald, tattooed and suddenly feel as if I am writing an introduction to a dating site. I grew up in Lake Wales; and, just moved back there to finish my AA. I’ve been in college on and off for a little over four years. I took classes sparingly as I spent a lot of my time traveling and exploring the social environments of various human cultures. I’ve lived deep in the Kentucky Mountains where we grew our own food and herbs, dug our own running water ways, carved our own wood for our houses. I’ve lived in New York for a while and have traveled the entire east coast and southern side of the United States. I’ve been homeless and I’ve had more money than I could handle for a short period of time. I’ve stayed in Paris, London, and several places in Great Britain. I have practiced and/or studied most of the world’s major and minor religions and have an innate fascination with the history of religious mysteries, secret societies and esoteric ideals that seem to still permeate within each and every aspect of our lives to this day. If I had one wish I would cover it in peanut butter and feed it to my dog, so as Murphy’s Law would not reign down a million, deadly little gold pieces, on my head, should my Western Will be too strong.Currently I am seeking an AA in Liberal Studies (or interdisciplinary studies as UCF has deemed it) because I cannot settle on one thing to study. My days mostly consist of playing my bass guitar, working on one of three novels I am writing, editing my poetry manuscripts and meditating. I believe life and love are infinite. That each and every moment, breath, step, fall, mistake, we make is pure, divine, and perfect. I do not believe in universal good or universal bad nor do I believe in apologies or blame. I believe as the ancients did, that each one of us are divine, individual manifestations of the greater Love/Divine consciousness interacting and existing within one possible universe and all possible universes at once. To quote Bill Hicks “we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively--there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.” I think the driving energetic force of the universe is irony, I just can’t prove it yet. I live for the sound of eggs hitting a hot pan in the morning and the smell of unwashed auburn dreadlocks after a week of rolling around in oak leaves and dirt. If I were a cliché internet survey question, which would be posted to a thousand friends, I would be: Who are you, and why?
