"In the Qur'an, we are told..." Think me: should I believe someone who speaks from the perspective of a "religion" that claims that it is all right to lie to the infidel? Given that, what is true, what becomes a falsehood? I believe that God is not evil and that Jesus is His Son, not just another prophet. Infidel? What arrogance! Those who are true to their faith, ipso facto, are faithful to God. We are infidel only because we will not accept a "religion" the loudest spokesmen for which are theocratic thugs, torturers, and assassins.
