Elasticity:
 “The property of the bodies by virtue of which they oppose any change in their shape orsize on application of a deforming force within certain limit and regain their originalshape or size on removal of deforming force is called Elasticity.”

Themaximum limit of deforming force above which the bodies lose their elasticproperties is called limit of elasticity.
Elastic after effect
It is found that few solids take time to regain original shape or size even within theelastic limit, after the removal of deforming forces. The delay in regaining the originalconfiguration of a body after the removal of deforming force is called elastic after effect.
 
 
Elastic fatigue
When a wire is made to vibrate for a long time, it is found that the wire gets tired due tocontinuous vibrations which are called elastic fatigue. It is loss of strength of thematerial due to repeated alternating stress to which the material is subjected is calledelastic fatigue.
