studies themobile entertainment industry from three viewpoints: a) technology, b) usercultures and geographical differences, and c) business. This report is anadditional report to MGAIN Benchmarking report. It was stated at thebenchmarking report that cross media content and multiple mediatechnologies are seen the main drivers for future entertainment industry andinformation society, providing richer experiences than currently gained frompictures, voice and data on television, the Internet or third-generationhandsets. Cross media refers to content distributed through multiple media.European companies as well as European Commission have already putemphasis on developing cross media solutions and have knowledge about it.This report shall define central concepts; cross media, multiple media,integrated media and media convergence. Also technological and culturalenables are presented. The ideas will be taken into practise through three casestudies and general cultural and technical development; utility games, hybridmedia and pervasive communication.
