It is strikingly marked with a double black collar, blotched and banded legs and tail, and all this over a vivid yellowish-orange ground color. It has a large head, thick body, and a tail measuring twice the body length. These are rather speedy creatures and when pursued can be seen to rise up onto their hind legs and run along half erect.
