Ferth Vandensteen Manaysay is presently the Regional Director for Asia-Pacific of Green the Gene, a global grassroots movement for positive environmental action through over 4500 children and youth...view moreFerth Vandensteen Manaysay is presently the Regional Director for Asia-Pacific of Green the Gene, a global grassroots movement for positive environmental action through over 4500 children and youth volunteers from schools and universities across 42 countries. Concurrently, he is the project director of the ASEAN Peace Project under President Barack Obama’s Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Seeds for the Future Grants. He was recently selected as one of the YSEALI academic fellows and trained under the tutelage of the East-West Center on environmental leadership and management. Earlier, he participated in the YSEALI United for Peace under the Focolare Movement and U.S. Embassy Manila. As the former media relations head of the U.S. Pinoys for Good Governance (Marianas Chapter), he is a community journalist with experiences on covering human rights, disaster, and poverty reduction. While serving as correspondent for the ASEAN-Korea Center, he participated as one of the two Southeast Asian mentors for the ASEAN-Korea Frontier Forum. Ferth completed his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of the Philippines in April 2014. During his undergraduate years, he represented the country in various international programs, including the CIMB Young Leaders ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths in Tokyo, Japan, and the ASEAN-Korea Summit in Busan, South Korea. He is currently a graduate student working towards his Master’s degree in Public Management at the Ateneo de Manila University.view less
