FADE IN:
EXT. - TURNER LAWN - AFTERNOON

Dad enters frame, pushing a CRAPPY, CLEARLY HAND MADE LAWN
MOWER. He walks past Timmy, who sits in a COSMO INFLATABLE POOL
and wears a WANDA SEAHORSE FLOATY.

TIMMY
Hey, Dad! Whatcha doing?

DAD
Mowing the lawn! With the lawn mower I
made myself!

Dad, trying to start the mower, pulls the cord and BOOM! It explodes. After a beat, DINKLEBERG rides through scene on his side of the fence, on a RIDING MOWER, whistling happily.

DAD
(seething) Dinkleberg...
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. - TURNER BACK YARD - LATER
Timmy sits on the patio. Cosmo and Wanda are a PITCHER and a GLASS
on the PATIO TABLE. Dad wheels out a CRAPPY BBQ.

DAD
Hey, sport! Ready for some burgers on
the grill I made myself?

TIMMY
You bet!
Dad hits a BUTTON on the grill. FLAMES shoot out of it as though it
were a rocket engine, charring Dad to the core.
TIMMY
Ready for a trip to the hospital?
DAD
You bet!

ON DINKLEBERG flipping BURGERS on what has to be the GREATEST
BBQ ever. He smiles at Dad and waves.
DAD
(fuming) Dinkleberg...
DISSOLVE TO:
INT. - TURNER KITCHEN - LUNCH
Dad is at the table. Mom serves SANDWICHES, CHIPS and SODA.
DAD
What's this?MOM
It's lunch!

Dad pulls out a set of BINOCULARS and peers through the window. DAD'S BINOCULAR POV - We see the DINKLEBERGS, as they have a very fancy lunch, with ORANGE JUICE AND LOBSTER.

DAD (O.S.)
But the Dinklebergs are having brunch!
That's better than lunch!
Why can't we have a fancy brunch?
Or a fancy riding mower! Or a fancy
barbecue that works?

MOM (O.S.)
Well, we can't afford all those fancy new
things because we spend all our extra
money on Timmy! But I'd never say...

Timmy enters behind them in time to hear-

MOM
If we didn't have Timmy, we could afford
all sorts of fancy new things!

This hits Timmy like a ton of bricks. His eyes widen sadly.

DAD
Yeah! Having a son can be such a drag!
Think how great our lives would be if we
didn't have Timmy...
